Those miami fans comments are stupid...so they knew this whole time and everyone decided to keep it hush.
Nobody would take a fan serious in this situation.
This is like an LSU fan accusing USC of cheating after McKnight.

I realize that. Visit the ESPN site and read that sentence. Or read this entire thread and note how many times I've already adressed this. Your call.

I'll bring it up again... if Lyles requested money for Patrick to come to LSU, then why aren't we hearing anything about Avery? It doesn't seem as though you'd steer your younger brother to your college if the only reason that you went in the first place was $.
CTJ says wait, there is more...

but he did have this shady cat representing him on some level which doesn't look good. If you are the #1 player in the country, you don't need anyone other than your parents helpiing you choose what college to go to or to get you "on the radar" of certain schools. Every school in america would have loved to have him. It smells bad to me.
What shady cat are you talking about? No where did it say lyles represented him. If anything his dad did, hence the reason he changed his name.
And one guys saying another guy asked for money doesnt equal representing him.

Looks to me like one guy was trying to get rich from a school desperate to rebuild their program.
I doubt LSU paid the alleged asking price.

Oh!
That's a great one. Avery and Craig Loston committed to LSU because of Lyles... it has absolutely nothing to do with Patrick Peterson and Russell Shepard...

The fact that PP7 has not tweeted about this saying it is BS is quite telling to me. I think LSU should be highly concerned.
WOAH, WOAH, WOAH, Guys. We are ALL missing the real pressing matter here... PP has a twitter?!!? Why doesn't he follow me?! Why am I not following him?!
If any of you know the whereabouts of his twitter name, please let me know!

RT @bperroni: story I wrote on Peterson visit to #TAMU 3 yrs ago. I confirmed at time the "friend" was Will Lyles. LINK
Well that kinda hurts the creditability of Peterson when the Texas Rivals writers confirmed 3 years ago Peterson's father was visiting Lyles..
quote:
"I visited Texas A&M the other day," said the 6-foot-1, 193 pound prospect. "My dad and I were in Houston visiting one of his friends and he suggested that we go look at A&M.
So either the Rivals writers in Texas are in on this as well or somebody has some explaining to do..

I call bulls##!. He has absolutely no way of proving this. It isn't in the article, and at the time he would have had absolutely no reason to find out who Patrick's dad's friend in Houston was.

Peterson's father, Patrick Peterson Sr., said he remembers taking the visit with his son to Texas A&M. Peterson Sr. described his son's visit to Texas A&M as a good trip. But he said he had a feeling his son would end up playing in the Southeastern Conference, not the Big 12.
He said he had not heard any allegations that Lyles was asking schools for money for his son. "This is my first time hearing this. This is a shocker," Peterson Sr. told ESPN. "It could have happened. It could have come out of [Lyles'] mouth, that's what happens. These guys try to make money on their own, they are kind of like escort services. That's what I call them, escort services."
Peterson Sr. said he has talked to Lyles at some football camps, but other than that, he said he has no relationship with Lyles. He said Lyles, when they've talked, is often asking him for information on players from Ely High School in Pompano Beach, Fla., which is his son's alma mater.

I guess the easiest way to solve this problem is find out where Peterson JR and SR stayed during their trip to Houston. It is not real hard to find out about stuff like that.
My question is that if Petterson had no idea who Lyles was, then how does his father know him well enough to receive phone calls from him about other players on the team? Something is not matching up with the 3 or 4 different stories and denials out there.

The elder Peterson says they have spoken at football camps. There is no mention of phone calls. He said the conversations have centered around other players at the school when they've spoken (at football camps).

Peterson says this:
quote:
LSU released a one-paragraph statement Thursday afternoon from Patrick Peterson regarding Willie Lyles: "I have never had any type of relationship with Willie Lyles and he had no influence on my decision to attend LSU, or any other school for that matter," Peterson said on the statement. "He had no involvement with my recruiting process and I resent the fact that my name has come up in these allegations. I chose LSU because it's a great school with a great football program. I never received nor was I offered anything to go to LSU and anyone saying otherwise is being dishonest." On Wednesday, former Texas A&M assistant coach Van Malone accused Lyles, who runs a scouting service, of seeking money in exchange for delivering Peterson to A&M while Peterson was still a high school prospect. The allegations were made on ESPN.com.

Probably the stupidest post I have read on here deals with Peterson not updating his Twitter page. So he's more guility because he didn't update his Twitter page? Gimme a break.
