I'll bring it up again... if Lyles requested money for Patrick to come to LSU, then why aren't we hearing anything about Avery? It doesn't seem as though you'd steer your younger brother to your college if the only reason that you went in the first place was $.

I don't see how getting paid to play college football lowers one's integrity

then you don't understand the nature of integrity.

It's breaking a silly made up rule.

Exhibit A - So if it's silly you don't have to follow a rule.

It's not the law.

Exhibit B - Intergity is a matter of character and morality, it has nothing to do with the law.

PP's father has straight out said they didn't have anything to do with Lyles and that Lyles wasn't representing them.

"Peterson Sr. said he has talked to Lyles at some football camps, but other than that, he said he has no relationship with Lyles."

The link is is the OP.

Define the nature of integrity to me and then tell me how any college athlete breaks his integrity by taking money to play a game that lots of other people make money one. Especially, if said athlete is flat out poor. I actually find more integrity in taking money (which you EARNED by using your natural gifts in a way that doesn't harm anyone else) to give to your family.

Again, what does integrity have to do with legally making money in a way that victimizes NOBODY!!!

Go cry in your dinosaur PJs about how disappointed you are that they're not all playing for the love of the game or dear old Pick One University. Because there is nothing wrong with those kids, but there is something way wrong with the system and the way the grown as men desperately cling to it's purity like it was their daughter's vagina.

Some rather jaded comments by Miami(Fla) fans in the 'comments' section of that article. Several references to how "they know the real story" about Peterson and his dad.

You continue to prove my claim. Just because you disagree doesn't mean you don't have to comply.

Let me try to put in terms you can understand...

When a patron comes to the snowball stand you work at, you have to put the right amount of flavoring in the snowball even if they won't know the difference... got it ?

No. They paid you money for the right amount, so you give them what they paid for. Otherwise, you are short changing them. Somebody loses in your scenario and no offense but it's a stupid analogy.

Getting money to play collge football would be like doing your job so well that your boss gave you more than you were promised. Nobody loses.

You're too stupid to know when you're being insulted. I give up. Good luck in life, you'll need it.

Except that you agreed to a contract when you were hired on, and that extra money gets taken from company funds and hurts profit... which in turn affects stock values, which can lay off other employees...

You see where I'm going with this.

Peterson would have probably left his sophmore year...yeah his draft wouldnt been as high but he would have saw the whole reggie bush debacle and most likely said peace out.

So LSU offered his dad a job in FL?

Some of those fans said everyone in South FL knew of this deal...but just now coming out with it 3 years later?

Van Malone takes shots @ LSU...and coaches at Tulame.

Stanly McClover takes shots @ LSU (directly) and $aban (indirectly)...and played at Auburn.

There's a pattern here...individual & program success breeds contempt from those not succeeding themselves.

No he doesn't. He has never once worked at Tulane.

OK, then the writer of the story is a liar...

Van Malone, the former defensive secondary coach at Texas A&M, told ESPN that Lyles phoned him in 2007 after Peterson had visited the College Station campus.

"A few days after the kid's visit, Will calls and says, 'If you want this kid, there are other schools that want this kids as well. They're willing to pay a certain amount of money, around the $80,000 mark,'" Malone said. "He said that was something we were going to have to beat as a university to be able to obtain the services of this kid."

Peterson originally committed to the University of Miami but ended up signing with LSU. Now a junior, he has declared for the NFL draft and is the No. 1 player on ESPN draft guru Mel Kiper's Big Board.

Malone is an assistant coach at Tulane University. He said he told Lyles that A&M doesn't pay for football players. Malone said he did call Peterson to let him know that Lyles was trying to sell his services.
