That draftcountdown site is the only site to have amukamara ahead of Peterson. And like I asked tduecen before, since he claimed it was so legit, who is Scott Wright and what is his NFL connection?
And I'll ask you, who is Shane hallman and what are his credentials?

Does the PP cramp issue come into play with NFL GM.
If I was spending first round money, I would want a pretty solid answer to this question.
Yes and they're so concerned he'll still be a top 5 pick.

Elite receivers can take advantage of a CB and smart coaches can call plays that give that WR an advantage.
Never a truer statement made.

This is a discussion that's going to last until the moment they are drafted.
Personally, I think PP is the better overall athelete and the more explosive player. Which is why he will get drafted before Prince. Brings more to a team besides just playing the shut down corner position. He'll be a great player in the NFL at corner or safety if a team wants to move him.
And Prince will also be a great player, and he'll be drafted in the top 10. Shut down corner for years.

No clue. I wasn't aware I needed to post a biography on a guy who I shared the same opinions with.

So why hasn't every team done this against PP and Prince? because it is not that true of a statement.
A great corner can shut down a WR no matter how good a coach is at creating or calling plays.

Awesome. You've realized you're a human and you have you're own opinion. You're entitled to that, you know?

quote:Because not every team has an elite receiver that can take advantage of them. This is college not the NFL where teams do not have great pieces of talent at every single position or QB's that can make the correct throw 75% of the time.
So why hasn't every team done this against PP and Prince?
quote:Yeah Revis, Sanders, Woodson, Woodson, Bailey, and Asomugha have never been beaten they shut everyone down they come in contact with.

Nice job of editing to fit your purpose. The statement was made in regard to an "elite" receiver having the edge over the best of corners. That is true at every level of football by the very nature of offense vs defense. Can an "elite" corner overcome the edge of said receiver? Absolutely, but not every time.

It was you on the MSB...I'm sure you could find it if you were so inclined, I'm on my phone, so I won't.

quote:I'm sure it wasn't... I've stated in past that I believe Prince will go ahead of Peterson and I linked various websites that backed up that claim. If they backed my statement I would post them. If you didn't like their opinion on the subject I am sorry you take it so serious. I did post an article that discussed Peterson's weaknesses at one point and I asked the question "how legit is this" which implied that it was not my thinking but someone elses. If you are confusing the two because I posted an unflattering article then I am sorry reading is hard. However, that was at the start of season and things have changed obviously. I do believe Peterson had a better season last year compared to this year and I have stated as much.

As I have stated several times in this thread but people refuse to read. The combine/pro-day will determine which will go first. Then it will take at least 5 seasons in the NFL before someone could be declared a winner in this internet battle.

Maybe so, but this thread asked our opinion. IMO: PP > Prince as an NFL CB. My reasoning is PP has shut down several elite WRs while at LSU and Prince was embarresed by Blackmon. In the NFL, you go up against WRs that were elite in college on just about every play, plus I think PP is better in run support and more durable for the NFL.

quote:Yes asking the opinion of LSU player vs a non-LSU player on an LSU related message board. Totally unbiased opinions and many who have typed in this thread admitted to either never watching one player (Prince) or watching very little. I am sure if it was asked on a Nebraska message board it would have many of the same statements favoring Prince.
Maybe so, but this thread asked our opinion.
quote:He has played Julio, AJ, and Childs at LSU.... AJ would be only one I consider elite because of the offense he played in. Julio does not play in a passing offense and doesn't have many "great" games. I mean he had his first 1000 yard season this year and finally had more than 4 touchdowns in a season. Not exactly "elite" career numbers but he does have the physical tools.
My reasoning is PP has shut down several elite WRs while at LSU

Julio in Oklahoma's offense would've been sick.

In 2008 LSU faced these elite receivers (I did not include in previous argument because I/nor does anyone else, know who Peterson was matched up against.)
Mike Wallace (Ole Miss) 5 Catches 99 Yards 2 TD
Julio Jones (Alabama) 7 Catches 128 yards
AJ Green (Georgia) 3 Catches 89 Yards 1 TD
Percy Harvin (Florida) 6 Catches 112 Yards 2 TD
Again this was in 08, not sure who Peterson covered then. Although 09/10 the list of "elite" receivers is diminished completely.

I had the pleasure of being in a gym in Omaha when Peterson was announced as the winner of the Thorpe. I enjoyed the collective gasp from the confused patrons as to how their beloved Cornhuskers could not be the best at everything. I'm sure none of them even knew who Peterson was or watched an LSU highlight this year.
