it's just funny how people search high and low for anything that can be construed as negative pertaining to saban. he hasn't been the coach here in 4 years, get the frick over him.

How does that change the fact that Saban's a prick? And why are you so defensive about it anyway? Alter?

defensive? not defensive at all, these threads just get entirely redundant and make lsu fans look pathetic. i don't like saban either, but i'm not gonna waste my time looking for any and every story on him and when he last farted like some people do on here

Admittedly, Saban is a tool though.

saban is a tool

miles does this with recruits also

saban's attrition problem (while it happens at other schools) is more notable than telling an option QB he won't be playing QB on a non-option team. did saban lie to early when we recruited him as an athlete?

which recruit did Miles tell he has a shot because the current guy is too stupid to play the position?

Early was listed as a wide receiver recruit the entire time...

How do you know this isn't a total lie? I mean if Saban told every recruit that, then wouldn't players get pissed every year when they find out from incoming freshmen that Saban talked so much shite about them on the recruiting trail?

Yeah, I am sure Saban really went into Pat White's house and said "JaMarcus Russell is stupid."

I am sure Saban was as much a salesman as any coach, but I seriously doubt this is how he became the best recruiter in football. Pat White is a tool.

I don't know if it is, or isn't, I was responding to the assertion that Miles does the same thing.

you're right, could've been Jimbo

i have a hard time believing that arguably the best recruiter in the country would use tactics such as calling his players stupid to attract recruits. call me crazy, but that's not exactly the best way to recruit kids, and it doesn't appear saban has ever had trouble getting kids to sign with him, so yeah i'll choose not to believe pat white. now once players get into the program, that's a completely different story with saban

oddly enough you live in Tennessee and you don't think that good recruiter (Kiffin) would use unscrupulous tactics to secure a commitment?

I really see no reason for White to lie especially since we really wanted him and he spurned us for WVU. Doesn't make sense.

how does White make that up? White is basically saying that he believes Russell is stupid so ppl will believe my lie, or Saban did said it just to get White to change his mind.

Who do you think knew JR well enough to throw the "stupid" line out there?

" I am not going to be the coach at Alabama-now I have said it".....He is the only coach I can remember emphatically saying what he was not going to do-then lie about it. All Saban had to do to save face was to keep saying the same answer over and over again.." I am the coach of the Miami Dolphins now and I will NOT say anything else on the matter"!!!!

You guys do remember JR's sideline interview during the national championship game right? Is anyone really going to begrudge Saban telling someone else that JR wasn't exactly a genius? C'mon.

oddly enough kiffin hasn't talked shite about his own players either to recruits. he may lie, cheat, and steal to get players, but he's not trashing his own team to do that either. he promises early playing time but that has more to do with the fact tennessee has no depth, which isn't really something he needs to trash players to convince recruits of. it's just a fact that everyone knows

injured...

which kinda proves his point.

Also, Pat White could have gone higher than 44th in the draft had he played a position such as wide receiver and probably would have a chance at a better and longer pro career.

It is a bit early for this story to run. No told you sos yet.

Yes, he got injured now and again, but he's also by far the best thing that ever happened to WVU football. Much more than Pat White cost them that game. That program is nothing right now without him and Steve Slaton.

I do believe Saban would say this, probably not to many recruits, but to ones who were special enough to be recruited at a position the coaches didn't want them at in the first place? Yeah. Pat White, by all accounts, is a great kid. Saban has a history of lying.

On the other hand, Saban recognized White's talent when many other schools didn't.

I don't know if this is true. White does not have ideal receiver straight line speed or height. He would struggle against NFL cornerbacks. He would've been drafted, but higher than 44th is very very debatable.

However, his elusiveness is incredible. He is the kind of guy who you want the ball in his hands from the snap. And his passing is very good. Not NFL QB good, but fine for the wildcat. He is perfect in Miami.

Again, life on the Rant. Always taking a statement and going 'a bridge to far'. Of course, they didn't' say JR was "stupid". They probably intimated in some way or another that he didn't have it between the ears (football lingo) to learn the offense, or that he hadn't learned the offense yet so White would have a chance if he came to LSU. In Pat White's mind that may have meant that JR was "dumb", but I highly doubt anyone from LSU actually said that. Even if it was just hinted at by Saban, he's still a tool for doing it.
