Not really. College is also about growing up and leaving the nest as well.

The said poster chose to leave BR because he grew up in that actual city and his own mother taught at lsu....

Look, I grew up in BR and grew up a huuuuuuuge LSU fan. Cousin played at lsu, godfather played at lsu, and sisters were athletes for lsu.

I was recruited by LSU and many other schools.

I chose to go elsewhere to get away and experience somewhere else.

I went to another big athletic school. I still cared more about watching LSU games than my schools games (and this wasnt uncommon for alot of the athletes)........You cant fake what school you are a fan of more

But, if you CHOOSE TO DO SO and don't embrace that as your Alma Mater, then what's the fricking point?

He had a great time, grew up, got an education, met his wife, and met friends. Cheering more for lsu in sports doesnt change any of that

I’m guessing it’s supply and demand vs fire code.

Go to Proud Larry's (bar) or City Grocery (dinner).
Any list without those is not legit.

Oxford is a very nice town, you all should have a great time there.

Great presentation but you forgot one important thing.......

I've been to Oxford only twice to see LSU lose but more importantly the first trip I witnessed campus/ city police make underage students pour out a case of canned beers into the street sewer...... cruel and unusual punishment......WTF

Second trip was just as bad as I saw a LSU student who was openly mixing drinks in LSU section get arrested and led handcuffed 100 yards down the sidelines as a display of assholery to prove a point that Ole Miss doesn't tolerate drinking on its field especially a student from an opposing school even when Ole Miss is winning the game.....

Drink but be discrete and you will remain free in Oxford.

Been to this game about 10 times.
Always had a blast in Oxford.
Too many stories to recount.

2003 may just have been the best lsu game I've ever been a part of.
Atmosphere in that little town was epic.

I appreciate your post but it seems as if it was a underage drinking guide for the bars that all have bands and are all similar but one has a balcony. With that said, I love Oxford and you can catch me at the library.

Well the thread was created by an 18 year old spoiled rich brat, who has been going to Ole Miss a few months but claims to be an insider. Just like he claimed to be a LSU recruiting guru when he was running around the halls of a high school in Baton Rouge just last year.

Take his info, just like you'd take any other info posted by him.....its all useless.

For those of you old enough to not worry about IDs, Proud Larrys will be spot for us with George Porter playing on Friday night. Also upstairs at City Grocery is cool or Bourre for friday or saturday night. Also the Library.

Flanders, there's an LSU fan that bartends upstairs at city grocery if you want to watch the game on the square. He'd prob love an LSU fan up there while he is stuck at work not at the game.

Absolulety. We waited too late to get a res but some of the food is available upstairs. I remember last lsu/olemiss game we left the game early and went upstairs to finish watching the game and eat.
