OU fan here (obviously) -- just wanted to clarify a few things:

- None of us think that Hurts is better than Burrow. In fact, at least half of our fanbase has called for him to be benched for a true freshman at least once this season. If we're delusional about our QB play, it's that we're too negative about Hurts. He's unquestionably the worst QB we've had since Lincoln took over the playcalling. Now do we think that Burrow is potentially the best ever? Absolutely not. Now that you've finally entered the 21st century offensively, you'll know why I'm saying this in a few years. Your passing attack will not die with Burrow's departure.

- None of us expect to win the NC this year. Obviously we think it's possible we beat LSU, but if you made us put our money where our mouth is, we'd bet on LSU. Clemson has the best team, though, and I expect them to win it all. I bet they beat LSU by 10+ (and OU by a lot more)

- We acknowledge that this season is a 3 team race. A significant portion of our fanbase even wanted to miss the playoffs this year (not myself), because we have such a small chance of winning it. This is a very weak playoff team, but we are the 4th most deserving team to be here (now that Tua is out). On a neutral field, I think we'd be favored against every team outside of the top 3 (other than possibly Oregon -- who has more losses in an equally bad conference). I definitely don't think UGA is more deserving.

- We would succeed in any conference. Yes, the Big 12 was TERRIBLE this year, but it's usually a top 2 conference. Over the last few years, we went head to head with the best the SEC had to offer (Bama/Saban) -- we split. We went head to head against the best the B10 had to offer (Meyer/Ohio State) -- we split. We could go head to head against anybody and I'd expect us to split (or better; except Clemson -- they have our number).

- The part about the SEC playing no defense is a joke -- and it's hilarious. For years, we've been hearing how the Big 12 doesn't play any defense, and we've always responded that it is impossible to shut out down these offenses. Now that the SEC has (finally) adopted our style of offense, the SEC is now having 45-40 shootouts. It was funny watching A&M and Mizzou shred vaunted SEC defenses on a weekly basis and go on to have more success than they were having in the lowly B12. Heupel is unanimously considered the worst OC that OU has had in the past 20 years (and possibly the only one we've fired in that time period?), so watching Mizzou shred SEC defenses a few years back with him was mind-blowing (actually -- no it wasn't, it was what all B12 fans expected it). Sorry that saying the SEC doesn't play defense hurts your feelings so much, but whoever coined the phrase "don't dish it out if you can't take it" was a very wise person.

One more thing I forgot to mention -- I absolutely LOVE the state of Louisiana. There are a lot of stereotypes about Oklahoma that are unfortunately mostly based in truth, but we can always say "at least we're not as bad as *insert southeastern state here*." Doesn't matter if we're talking about school systems, average BMI, dental hygiene, sexual attraction to our cousins, etc -- you ALWAYS have us beat.

When somebody from Cali/NY (or really anywhere that isn't Louisiana or North Dakota) makes fun of our state, we tend to get offended. When somebody from Louisiana makes fun of our state we just giggle. Keep the laughs coming.
