Other NCAA players who have received 2 year suspensions

Has this happened before? Never heard of it til Fulton and can't find any dirt on other players.
Is Kristian the first player to try and cheat on a drug test in history?

I can't find any.
The spirit of the rule is you get 1 year for using a PED, plus 1 year for trying to cheat. But Fulton wasn't using a PED. That's why the 2 year thing never made sense.

I really don;'t get the outrage here. He did something really stupid and is suffering for it. Why anyone with that opinion gets downvoted to hell and back I'll never know.
ETA: See, 3 fast downvotes for a perfectly reasonable opinion.

The rule is stupid but he did break it. Just weird it's never really happened before him.

I read on here that it’s the longest suspension in NCAA history. Who knows?!? If not it has to be up there.

The rule is the issue
There's something very wrong about being suspended for 2 years for trying to cheat a drug test, but being suspended for one game (against South Alabama) after beating a woman senseless.

A kid from Georgia got a steriod shot when he was sick and some how the roids embedded in fat cells and continued to show up on the test. He continued to fail and I believe he was out 3 years.
There was at least logic in that instance.
ETA: Sorry a doctor prescribed him steroids that showed up. I’m not a chemist, I don’t know which steroids contains exactly which compounds.

lol dude - two totally different types of steroids. Medically would have been cortisone, unless he had Low T - which would have resulted in him probably not being a UGA recruit anyways.

But isn't a 1 year suspension enough "suffering" in this case?

I remember that but he wasn't cheating.
Seriously, no one has EVER been caught cheating on a drug test?

I'm sure most compliance departments sit every single athlete down and tell them that it's better to fail the test than to try and cheat it because of this crazy suspension.
I'm assuming KF wasn't paying attention, or LSU's compliance has been half assing it.

You sure about that? I thought the penalty was just 2 years for falsifying/cheating the test - regardless of if PEDS were in your system.

Rumor was the same thing happened to Savion Smith right? So LSU had the first TWO instances of this happening?

No. He broke the rule, he gets the punishment.

The spirit doesn't matter. The rules say you cheat the test, you get 2 years. It's really simple. Should the rule be changed? Maybe. But just because an LSU guy is the one suffering doesn't make that so.

Our compliance dept sucks but I honestly don't believe that. Ten thousand+ FBS football players every year and not one other has cheated. No goddamn way.

I'm sure many have cheated. They just didn't get caught in the act.

There's not a doubt in my mind that someone has, but given the severity of the punishment had it swept under the rug with a quickness.

Maybe LSU did inform KF of the situational circumstances, but, perhaps he was freaking out because his dad might whoop his arse if he failed a test? There's a lot to be said for a young man letting his family down and the repercussions of dealing with that. Anyone who comes from a family that is tight and has respect for each other may understand what I am trying to convey. Just my opinion...

Maybe you're right. If this is indeed the case, he took a risk and it backfired so my sympathy would be limited.
