Exact opposite of what I read in the OP. Charles Turner has solidified himself as the #1 backup. Anthony Bradford did well in Hines' absence, and overall the second team OL did well.

Not true. The second string offensive line scored on a 5 play drive against the second string defense Saturday. As I heard from several observers that they are really coming along.

In addition, I head that Kardell Thomas looked to be one of the most consistent linemen on that second string offensive line. Of course, as Ed O said, Charles Turner is ready to have his number called as well.

Guy coming really coming along is Xavier Carter that was moved from linebacker to defensive end. He will be used in the nickel package.

Zavier* having a good camp is big for 2022 DE position outlook. Webb and Jones look like monsters as well.

Ever since he said the 2020 defense was looking better than the 2019 defense, I have a hard time believing anything he says

It was a Covid Pandemic year. The team consisted mostly of brand new starters and they had made the decision to transition to a 4-3 defense, which none of the players had previously played before.

Meanwhile, the Covid Pandemic hit and then there was no spring practice, no summer workouts and player run practices, and only an abbreviated fall camp. As the only way Bo Pelini could teach his 4-3 defense was via Zoom with no practice reps, and only so much can be taught via zoom. Not only that but if a player doesn't understand something, he can't raise up his hand to get the coach to go over it again. Hence, the inevitable outcome was LSU fielded a defense that was lost in space because it didn't know the 4-3 defense.

Moreover, Ed O who has always been a big believer in the 4-3 defense wasn't pre-warned ahead of time by Bo Pelini of the impending disaster that was about to manifest. Hence, Ed O got caught with his pants down and in which is why he fired Bo Pelini as soon as the season was over.

This year was completely different because Ed O not only got rid of Bo Pelini and went with a youth movement after the BLM poison that inflicted the team last season but he also cleaned house on the defensive side of the ball with the exception of Corey Raymond and replaced them with an excellent young defensive staff. He did the same thing when Steve Ensminger retired. He let Linehan go, mostly because of his age, and hired a new young OC and new young Passing Game Coordinator.

Now LSU is gearing up for what seems to be a new very exciting college football season. So if you want to constantly be negative, crawl back in your hole and be negative by yourself.

Because he knows far more than you or anyone else sitting behind a keyboard and criticizing the team.

He built and coached the best team in NCAA history for LSU.
What are your credentials?

His ability to recruit has us on a path to win another.
He has more quality QBs here and in the pipeline than any coach in LSU history.
