Yeah. Given that the hire has been universally panned by everyone not wearing purple and gold sure isn't gonna help this year.

18 year olds who play football aren't oblivious. They are aware that LSU now has a Head Coach that wouldn't be a head coach ANYWHERE ELSE had LSU not hired him.

That is NOT a good look.

Sure. Better than bending over and taking it and, worse yet, convincing yourself that you like it.

It was a stupid hire. I hope that it (i) works out; or (ii) if it doesn't work out, that the damage is not too severe.

His Ole Miss record doesn't bother me in the least but the Florida game does. The entire team was unfocused and unprepared and to top it all off, it sure looked like he got bullied by Fournette. Whether it was due to injury or lack of practice reps, the guy clearly wasn't ready to go. I'm dtill willing to hop on the wagon depending on the OC hire but the Florida game was a big black mark on O's resume.

He did well with the hand he was dealt: a demoralized team with a crappy offensive scheme, going nowhere.

He was handed the pre-season #2 ranked team in the country.. Id call that a gold mind, they dont just lose their talent overnight.

If can organize, allow outstanding coordinators to do their job, he will do fine. That is the recipe that Dabo has used at Clemson. Dabo is no Saban or Meyer. He's hired good coordinators, let them do their job and he has recruited well.

Dabo is the exception to the rule, and clemson was no where near the program we are when they made the coaching change, they were an avg ACC team, not a powerhouse program that has sent more guys to the NFL than anyone else the last 10 years..

It was his fault...as he admitted. But walking into a program that was on the bottom of the talent pecking order sure as hell didn't help his chances at success.

He was 11-4 in just under two seasons as interim coach at USC and LSU--two of the most talent-laden programs in the country. Frankly, any competent coach on staff at the time could have accomplished the same.

Stop drinking! The reason why he became interim was because "more competent" coaches had the same teams with the same talent playing like crap!

If you and I raced, and we have identical cars...someone will still win. The race has as much to do with the driver than the car itself. Without a good driver or coach, it doesn't matter. It appears that coach "O" has been taking some serious driving lessons since leaving Ole Miss!

I didn't look at his stint at Ole Miss. He recruited well so what was his major problem?
