He then passed a box around the room and said he
wanted every earring in the room in the box. He isn't going to have any
fcuking wimpy girls on his team and wanted every piece of bull**** earring
in that box right now. With the team stunned faced with about as
opposite a person as one could have to Cutcliffe, Coach O started to walk
towards the door. He looked back at the team as they passed around the box
and said, "I'm going to walk out of here right now, and when I come
back in here, I'm going to have my shirt off, and I want everyone of you
mother... to have your shirts off too."

Rant logic:
He'll never change, anything associated with LSU is always bad or stays the same, no improvement or ability to learn and grow as a human being.
My logic: frick it, let's go for it

Per the book, he did the exact same thing at SC back in 2001 when they took over. Kids loved it.
Then he did the exact same thing at Tennessee in 2009 when they took over. The kids knew it was a retread and were not impressed.

I gotta get this book. Bebe is legitimately one of the most entertaining people to be around. I just hope he's not going to be drunk on the sideline

Would love to have that energy on the sideline instead of sitting in a warm cozy coaches box

perfect DL coach mentality...not a DC.

No one could make this crap up... Unreal. Still think he's the best guy for the job. He'll have to tone down in the Miles system and he completely changed his philosophy to "behavioral" coaching... It's what Pete Carroll does. Also, it is best learned from Flip Flippen, author of Flip Side out of College Station... Amazing stuff.

That's pretty hype and hysterical at the same time

I'm ok with a little drunk, just not Bobby Hebert after a Saints loss kind of drunk.

Doing it once is funny and cool. Doing it at 3 different schools is laaaame.

Dude has probably been humbled by his experiences.
Guys,I posted this on another thread. Don't mean to be repetitious, but in case some missed it, these excerpts, also from Bruce Feldman's Meat Market, give a complete picture of the unique human being named Ed Orgeron.
I always thought of him as a buffoon, but I admire the way he clawed his way back up when he hit rock bottom.
His overcoming alcoholism and regaining his career when it would have been so easy to quit means that, ultimately, the Ed Orgeron story is a story of triumph.
In four years as coach of Miami's defensive line, Orgeron had groomed three first round NFL draft picks as the Canes won two national titles. Suddenly, in an instant, it was all gone. Orgeron had drunk himself out of his dream job. With nowhere else to go, Orgeron went home to his parents' house in Larose.
"Those were the longest steps in my life," he says. I was back to sleeping in my old bedroom with the same basketball league trophies in there after having just lived in Miami on Brickell Key. For those first couple days I couldn't even get out of bed."
His mother was "crushed," says Orgeron. "but my father kept telling me, 'You stick with it. You're gonna come back better than ever. Just get it together. You're alright.' Those words meant a lot to me, and there was no pressure when I was living back at home."
No pressure except the sinking feeling that, at age 31, his college coaching career was over.
