Matt Canada - Disaster
Steve Ensminger - So-so. Didn’t have a system and has needed help bringing one in.
Bo Pelini - Disaster so far

Those are his 3 coordinator hires. I’m not confident in the next one, honestly.

Yep, I don't understand why people think if we dump Pelini that the next hire will be any better. I'll give him credit for Brady but his other hires have been fairly poor.

Was Joe Brady considered a coordinator or not?

I need to know because it seems that he was or was not based on what sort of narrative people are trying to push.

I read here that he had the best season in college football because he brought in the 2 JBs.

Everyone lol’d at Arkansas getting Pittman but he made 2 great hires. We hire Odom we’re 3-0 right now.

Out of curiosity, how do you reconcile having Myles Brennan having the stats he has with Emsminger being “so-so?”

Keep in mind that Emsminger lost a Heisman winner, a 1st round rb. a first round wr, and also had the wr he built the offense around opt out two weeks before the season started.

Granted, these are shite defenses LSU is playing against, but so-so doesn’t apply at this point imho.

He also coached LSU to the greatest season in college football history.

Neither of those two are coordinators.

What disappoints me the most is the direction he went after Brady. He brought in the young innovative guy, wins a title, and then replaces him with a guy who the nfl had moved on from.

The idea of Pelini was at least intriguing.

You have to wonder what is the most important criteria that CEO has when looking for a coordinator?

Is it excellence or something else?

Could it be he recalls how he got his job and wants to make sure his hires are not someone that could replace him?

He wants coaches that won't leave, which makes no sense.

Great assistants almost always have their sights on bigger and better things. You're supposed to lose them. If your assistants don't leave it's because no one wants them. And Venables is one of the few anomalies. That shouldn't be expected of great assistants.

It was in his title.

Coordinator

OP didn’t specify OC or DC, only coordinators.

No reason to be confident. How much is the divorce affecting him?

I wonder...

I thought Ensminger was the one calling the plays?

Does McMahon and Brady not also count? Or does that not fit the narrative?

He makes millions of dollars a year. If he is being impacted that badly by his divorce, he needs to step down.

He was not. He was a necessary byproduct of hiring an Offensive Coordinator with no offensive system. He did many things that an offensive coordinator would do, but the guy with the title and compensation was Ensminger.
