Doesn't matter if you lose to Texas A&M and Florida. I like the progress it appears Orgeron is making with the program, but I wish he could somehow stop making a reference to Alabama every time someone asks him a question.

He said last year that he didn't want to make the game so big that the players can't handle it, but he spends 365 days a year talking about it. He just honestly isn't bright enough to understand what he's doing.

He doesn't refer to Texas or Auburn as teams they need to beat, just Alabama. It's gotten old in a hurry. Nick Saban will never refer to LSU unless he's asked about LSU. Orgeron just comes across as obsessed with Alabama. It makes him and LSU look small and inferior.

LSU is not the only program that has a player who does the Haka

Why does this board treat it as some huge deal? It was a cool thing to watch like 10 years ago when Polynesian players started getting recruited by cfb teams. It’s old news now.

I hate this mentality. The day we start to view ourselves and them as equals, is the day we start to win.

So you want the head coach to obsess about beating Alabama, but the majority of this board seems to want to do away with the open date before the game and the CBS primetime slot because it puts too much emphasis on the game. And that makes any sense at all?

Let Matt Luke mention LSU every single chance he gets and LSU fans would laugh at an inferior, small time program being obsessed with us, but Ole Miss has been much more successful against LSU than LSU has been with Alabama.

When Orgeron mentions Alabama over and over, he puts more pressure on his players. Like the open date and primetime slot, you know? He should concentrate on beating Mullen and Fisher. Do that before stuffing your players' heads with visions of the mountain top. Your constant obsession with Alabama has embarrassed LSU.

I don't know about that. Fans are allowed to be tired of being Bama's whipping boy. That's completely understandable. Fans are tired of losing to them. It's only been 8 years. That's frustrating to fans and there's nothing wrong with voicing that frustration in a decent manner.

This I agree with. He's putting pressure on players months before the game is even here. Focus on the first game, and then second, and so on.

I wouldn't say his actions embarrass LSU but I do think it's not wise for him to publicly keep bringing up the Bama game.
Everyone knows about the Bama game. It's not some new revelation.

There are other tough games. One game at a time IMO. Bring up Bama when you get to the Bama game.

"Your" obsession with Bama was referring to Orgeron. Fans can always be obsessed. It's what we do, but the head coach can't smother his players with that. Saban won't mention LSU until we play them. Neither will Luke or Mullen or Malzhan or Fisher.

I agree. At least not right now. Do it when the Bama game is the next game.

Sometimes I wonder if some of the posters on this board enjoy college football. We have lost to Alabama 8 times in a row. If you don't think in the day to day mind-set of this football staff it doesn't eat on them - then you don't have a clue.

It eats on me and I am just a fan - O of course thinks about and desires to beat the #1 team in his way of being the SEC champs. Of course while doing that you can't let teams like Florida and aTm beat you late in the 4th or in OT.

The Gator game was full of break downs - team and coach staff. aTm - on the team and coaching staff for having that game close at the end.

2017 - good team that lost 3 games. Ended up 6th in the nation. Only 5 ahead of us but Baton Rouge is ready for a final 4 show down. This year make it happen and if O does the Hoka the twist or whatever along the way - so be it.

Why do you think the 10 points in three years vs Bama is brought up all the time? You think we enjoy it?

I'm sick of seeing LSU being slapped around. This has to stop. There's no reason related to talent that we can't win. My concern is can O get it done? 10 points in three years is concerning to me.

There is no excuse now. If he can't get it done this year, it'll be at least 2 more years before we're back to where we are now. I'm patient but not that patient.

Get it done.

I was just agreeing that as of now, O shouldn't be putting so much emphasis on the Bama game, since it's over 2 months away. Focus on the games that are coming.

He didn’t even mention Bama by name. It was a joke in response to him doing the haka (a silly question).

But Orgeron can't burp without referring to Alabama. Saban freely admits that every time he speaks in public, he is talking to his team and sending the message he wants to send to them. And he never mentions any team at all. He talks about toughness, commitment, focus. Seems to work okay.

Orgeron talks about gumbo and Alabama, his two obsessions. I like Orgeron for the most part, but he has never, ever proven that he can win even a division championship. I'm fed up with his constant talking about how we need to beat Alabama. Just do it.

I wasn't referring to what O said. I was replying to what a poster in this thread said.
