Yeah why blame the OC for only scoring 10 points in a game.

He’ll it’s not like we made it within the 10 twice.

Or that half the Florida Defense was hurt.

And it’s not like the guy ever got blanked by Bama.

Or like he had 2 Fiture NFL backs on the team.

Or like we called a timeout before the last play and come out not know what the frick to do.

If we missed on more than half and most were low risk passes I would say hes got legit reason to worry.

But as far as I know there's been no breakdown on the scrimmage and number of passes, types of situations, etc.

I think the drops are far more of a reason to be worried than the raw numbers from a scrimmage situation against a defense the caliber of ours.

IMO people are factoring the fact that there were drops and that is also a part of their concern. That said I do agree that I will wait to see how they perform in a game to make a judgement. However, it wouldn't hurt my feelings if the stats were a little better, nothing to freak out over either though.

Both are concerning given the relative unknown of the offense coming in. Yes, our defense is going to be beastly, but we play several other beastly defenses this year, including in two weeks. If we aren't going to be able to lean on a dominant running game, we're going to need to see huge improvement in the passing game in the next couple of weeks.

Tigers will face two defensive squads the caliber of theirs, and Miami isn't one of them.

MOT just broke it down for you.

drops weren't great but I can chalk those up to a bad day...The OL struggles are very real and have been consistent throughout camp. It's legitimate to be very worried about that.

OK, we can speculate about whose defense will be better all day, and I'd agree ours will almost certainly be better than Miami's. However, that doesn't change the fact that they will have a very strong, playmaking defense, and we play them week 1.

and if UM shuts us down in 2 weeks "Guys that was one of the better defenses in the country, of course the offense is going to struggle against them!"

Absolutely not. Miami will have a mediocre (P5) defense. The Tigers will need to prove the new offense is actually going to work in game one.

of course they are "fabricated". the situations are fabricated ergo the stats sans a detailed explanation are also meaningless (in a sense, fabricated).

frankly, I love the enthusiasm about LSU but damn the melts over nothing is very tiring. I think the "disconnect" is that we fans do not get to see the "scrimmage" nor do we know the situations. also, a good many fans wouldn't know how practices are structured and a scrimmage IS a practice.

but we do have an inexperienced offense and a talented one. it is common sense that we are going to come out slow and improve as the year progresses. we will struggle for awhile. THIS is the one year I wish we were starting off against a couple of pancakes. but we're not so it is what it is.

we may need luck to beat Miami but this team should be much better when we go to Georgia to play auburn.

Roger, I hope everyone holds to their position as I believe I believe you will once the games begin. Let's just hope that by some miracle that the over reaction isn't too epic for game 1, no matter the outcome.

My only position is based on the talent on the roster. I dont' care who the coach is, I try not to drag bias into things either.

The talent is there to have a good offense and win 10 games, It's what everyone should expect. I'm not expecting 100% in game one, but not expecting that from Miami either so it balances out.

There's no reason (with the staff, consultants, talent) that this 2018 team cannot have an improved offense.

We are in 100% agreement on the expectations. I think I probably differ on what I think will ultimately happen, but I am open to having my mind changed on that. These coaching changes along with the signing of Burrow warrant at least a "wait and see" attitude and outlook towards the season.

With everything as is, there's no reason this offense can't be stellar. If not, it's a coaching failure.

That's my feeling as well and basically the same outlook as the people labeled as negative and haters.
