Hey man, that returning senior QB broke records.
what? for longest periods of absolute futility in a game?
Just wait and see what people say about Etling if he turns out to have had a better year in '16 than the QBs have this year. The story will be "well, Danny was a 4 star too."

what ever, some people just don't like facts. Like you, I like to bring facts. I figured you for someone who likes facts.
except your dismissing the facts about what kind of teams they both had.
you dont care about facts about O's head coaching.

Facts without context are meaningless. That’s more like factoids. All you’ve done here is cherry pick in order to support your conclusion.

edit: HOLY shite!! just was double checking that fact to see if maybe Wikipedia was lying and discovered that Saban went 5-3, 5-3, 5-3, and 7-1 in the SEC in his 4 years at LSU while Coach Orgeron went 6-2 in the SEC in his very first season!!!
Look at it into more detail in 2000 we finished 3rd after 2 years finishing last or 2nd to last. 2001 after a slow start we win the last 3 SEC games to clinch the west, then upset #2 Tennessee on our way to winning the Sugar Bowl. 2002 if Mauck does not get hurt we most likely win the west again, remember he got hurt and we still almost won the west until Arkansas had that miracle. In 2003 well enough said. His last season he finished 2nd and probably should have won the west if not for the bullshite game against Auburn. I know you can say the opposite of what I am gonna say but if we had a little luck back then, Saban could have won the west 4 straight seasons here from 01-04.

Why shouldn't any LSU fan question every hire
I agree, I thought it was a horrible hire. But it was corrected very quickly. Does it look a little shady to hire and fire in 1 year? Yes, but it wasnt a disaster.
Sure question all the hires, but none have been disasterous......um...yet.
Now this may come to be the absolute worst football staff in LSU history, ...and if it does, at that point it will be deemed a disaster. At this point its just speculation and prognostication. But I doubt that comes to pass. Will Orgeron win multiple national championships?...doubtful, but I also dont think he will be a disaster.

We weren’t in the market for a coach to “not be a disaster”. We already had that.

Awe man, if hiring an OC that doesn't run the offense you want to run and then later admit that it's not an SEC offense isn't a disaster I'm not sure how bad it has to get to be a disaster.

You may disagree with it or not but that's their opinion.
I was spouting off because there was many posts this A.M. that were just extremely exaggerated opinions to the negative, or just totally not true. And I kind of summed them up in one post. It wasnt fair to group you in with some of the other posters.
And yes you are right, this is your opinion and you are welcome to it. This is America, gotdammit.
And Goldrush, if Orgeron steers the plane into a mountain, I'll be the first to throw gas on the burning plane. But he didnt hit a mountain, he took a sputtering airplane, patched it up and flew it into a pretty decent football season.

One that fires a coach after a 9-4 season his first year and is well liked by his players? Are you a stupid person?
Les Miles went 9-3 and was carried off the field by his players; he got fired.
your argument is null.

Sounds to me like its just a business decision. He wasnt horrible at being an OC, he just wasnt a fit. Mutual split and we move on.

Ugh! You cannot really believe the naysayers willl even consider the stats do you?

So he doesn't get any blame for forgetting to change the oil or put gas in the plane which made it sputter in the first place?
The plane analogy made me think of Fletch.

You are by giving him credit for not being a total disaster.
Last season wasn’t a disaster, but it wasn’t a step forward either. It was just a bunch of nothing, and possibly a wasted year given the Canada situation. No progress was made.

Totally missed my point.
Forget the firing and the split then, the fact of the hiring a guy that doesn't meet your criteria makes me question his decision making all together.

if you have a problem with people posting facts about Ed Orgeron maybe you should take it up with Alleva.
I have no problem with people posting FACTS about Orgeron or anyone else....even if they post them about you. But they better be real info and not made up. Because you have no basis if its a slanted exaggerated opinion. And Its not my call to decide or care about which does more damage, because I'm just an anonymous poster also. Why would I take it up with Alleva? He doesnt know you, does he?
But I will say I like your spirit. Way to fire back. But no need to get defensive, because this was my fault for stating my opinion. And I apologyze.

I understand, and I wanted to slap Orgeron for hiring that gimmicky OC in the first place. But not a disaster, just a bad decision. And nothing wrong with questioning his decision making.
Maybe I'm making too big of a deal over the word disaster.
Maybe its more of a slang word meaning not good decision, as opposed to its literal meaning of devastating, world-ending, apocalyptic. Thats my point!
