It was absolutely 10-3, 5-3 and the SOS was no more difficult than many past schedules.
I never called 10-3, 5-3 with a struggling O “great” results before and I am not now, but each to our own.

If 10-3 (5-3) ranked 6th is great. What would 12-1 (7-1) top 5 finish and a Sugar Bowl victory be considered?

No. Not great, but a good season that I'm happy with and I'm pretty optimistic about 2019.
A great season would be exactly what you quoted me posting. 12-1 with a top 5 finish and a playoff spot. A top 10 finish with 10 wins is the expectation every season.
It's the same with baseball. Do you think anyone would consider finishing the season ranked 6th a "great" season?

Only had one win over a P5 team with a winning conference record. Our "brutal" schedule turned out to be a mirage, with Miami, Auburn, and Miss State finishing with 6, 5, and 5 losses, respectively. Other than Bama, our two conference losses were to teams with 3 SEC losses.
So no, it wasn't a great year.
ETA: silly media polls mean nothing. Do you honestly think we're the 6th best team in the nation?
