He didn’t trap anybody, these people are always making self proclamations based on nothing but their imaginations, it’s pathetic. What I meant by the post season polls was your ranking in them does what for you exactly? Does it achieve any of your goals? Does it put you in position to achieve anything? The answer to both is no it does not. The regular season polls are showing you where you are in realition to your goals, that’s the functional purpose of the polls. You climb them weekly to try and reach the playoff. Once that’s settled and the playoff teams are chosen the polls are nothing but decorations and conversation pieces.

That's a very good point and I definitely have leaned towards only counting top 10 wins if that team finishes in the top 10. But, perhaps I've been thinking about it wrong. I have noticed that the media uses the ranking at the time the teams played.

It's always been when teams play. If we used their logic you can erase beating #1 UF in 97...we beat the #4 team

Think about it like this, the 1997 Florida upset we beat the number 1 team right? We celebrate that victory every 5-10 years but Florida didn’t finish number 1 that year. It doesn’t take away the fact that we beat the number 1 team though right? You can’t hold us accountable for how another team finishes, we can only play them that one week when they’re ranked at that particular spot.
