Every fanbase has morons. I've seen plenty at LSU, Old Myth, AL, Aub, certainly FL, Kentucky .. on and on. The Mallards got their twaddlin' asses kicked and they're (sniff sniff) up ... up ... up ... upset...

Take everything Oregon fans say in retrospect with a grain of salt. The Oregon fans have been voted a the most obnoxious group of fans by Sports Illustrated. It's sour grapes at this point. Every fan base has their share of idiots. It comes with the game. Moral victories are reserved for those that get their asses whooped. We got our asses whooped. Hands off to your team, really. I hope you guys go undefeated, and win in your home state for a fourth (is that correct?) national title. While it's easy to stereotype the South for their history of racism, Oregon is a known hotbed for Skinheads (It's mostly Idaho). Anyone else love Ganglands?
Anyways,
Good luck!
From,
Oregon fan

You obviously don't know what you're talking about. Fraternity men at LSU haven't popped their collars in decades.

You mean like a successful, well raised young adult? If you find this style of dress obnoxious, you're probably part of the white trash problem.

From observation and interaction this weekend: (for the most part) 40 years and up male Tiger fan is very knowledgeable, in most cases seems educated and is very welcoming. A pleasure to talk to. (for the most part) 40 years and up female Tiger fan is a loquacious cougar in training, who's apparel looks as though she has a deep fascination with a Bedazzler; IT'S ALL ABOUT THE FLASHINESS! For the most part, still a pleasure to talk to. (for the most part) Mid 30s and younger male Tiger fan is an obnoxious, vociferous, collar popped, polo-shirt wearing drunk, who is more than willing to turn is visor around and get in your face BECAUSE HE'S DRUNK, SO HE'S TOUGHER. (for the most part) Mid 30s and younger female Tiger fan is an above average looking brunette Southern belle, who's mouth runs faster than Cliff behind the wheel of a Nissan and lacks cooth on many levels. Any racist comment I heard this past weekend came from this group of ladies, who, in many cases, were either the girlfriends or wives of the abovementioned younger male Tiger fan.

I find this to be pretty accurate, actually...

Not sure about ya'll, but I didn't go to the game to make friends and drink tea. I went to watch my team light up the backfield and drink bourbon.

What do Oregon fans really know about what to do at a football game anyway??

yep, I agree. Every fanbase has them, no sense in dwelling on it.

There is much worse. Oregon fans are middle of the road when it comes to being obnoxious.

Nah...I never knew that...but from my 2 visits to Oregon, I would throw out the words "liberal", "tree-hugger", and "pothead".

And nothing embarrasses me more than to hear grown adults down here throw around the n-word. It makes us all look like a bunch of redneck idiots.

Really? I find many of the older fanbase to be the most football ignorant tiger fans, and the most likely to bitch, complain, and mouth off inside the stadium as if their opinion should be taken as truth immediately. Also the most likely to boo.

I find that the fans who travel to the games outside of Tiger Stadium are by and large the fans who are not going to boo and be ignorant asses...they are the ones who are actually there to support the team. These "real fans" are the fans that the Oregon fans probably saw in Dallas.

ETA...sometimes I find that my experience is better at road games than home games because of the dumbasses in Tiger Stadium

Lots of skinheads, tattood gutter trash and biker types in Oregon. Very few hippies, I don;t think people know the meaning of the word hippy.

I agree about the traveling fanbase. As far as TS, it really just depends on where you're sitting. Sometimes you just have those people around you that are literally waiting for "insert player" to make a mistake so they can lose their shite and have it dominate their view of the coach, team, player, etc. to the point that I can't not say something.

I didn't see too many hippies. LSU fans (particularly students) for the most part won't accuse anyone of being a pothead, mainly because they have no room to talk.

Apparently the "non-player wearing a team jersey" look is very popular in Oregon...possibly the entire North. LSU has a few fans like this, but I'm glad the majority of the fanbase has a little more class than this.

You don't play for the team. You don't need a jersey.

Despite the fact that their uniforms looked like Monster Energy drinks, teams around the country sport the jersey much more frequently than teams in the SEC, sans Florida.

I just base this on the Sugar Bowl a few years ago against both Ohio St. and Notre Dame. Both fanbases predominantly wore jerseys.

Wow. I guess fans should exclude any item with a school logo.

Some of you folks need to travel a bit more. It seems your views are very regional.

Likewise. I have heard more than my fair share of the N word with Tiger fans. It really is quite appalling to the rest of the country, but every time I'm in BR, it is thrown around left and right.

I said jerseys. Representing your university isn't synonymous with wearing apparel designed for athletic performance.

I have traveled. And I'm happy to report that we've perfected the entire football experience in the South. Along with food and women.

Guys, I'll take the blame for the popped collar look. I was getting burned out there and popped my collar for a few minutes to keep the sun off my neck. Don't hate.
