Roger - please do not take this as our sentiment as a fanbase. Read Jlight on www.addictedtoquack.com in the daily quack fix for today. We are telling our own fanbase to not be hypocritical.

I don't. Most Oregon fans I know are fairly level headed, though not nearly as deeply ingrained in college football culture as my LSU friends and people from the South.

My point was Blount got a suspension following a provoked attack. I would imagine they expect LSU to react similarly should JJ be found guilty of said violence.

This is quite bothersome. It's mostly a reflection on our society as a whole...win at all costs.

I, along with many on this board believe that integrity and character are irreplaceable traits in any person, including student athletes.

Until the team starts losing. Then it's 'fire the coach' no matter the grad rates or bring in better athletes.

I agree with you in principle but let's be honest, LSU winning games is worth a little blissful ignorance about the caliber of human being they happen to be winning with

Blount did sit for most of the season. He really didn't get a carry until right before the civil war. Blount got a sufficient suspension and CK's suspension for the entire year was overkill and was rightully retracted since Chip was a 1st year head coach.

I think the vast majority of Oregon fans are saying we should wait and see until everyone gets a chance to tell their story. The media and interwebs want to rush to judgement on these things before the whole story comes out.

Any cops post on here. I'm just curious if the guidelines for city/state are if they catch some going this fast, if it's an automatic trip to jail?

Jefferson is an A hole, I hate the fact he thinks he is actually a good QB. He reminds me of RP.

He's an "A" hole because he thinks he is a good QB? I see where you are coming from he should tell the media he sucks and Les should bench him in favor of lee or mettenburger(sp) to quell the fans. Jefferson and RP are 2 totally different personalities. RP was the #1 or #2 qb in the nation and confident/outspoken in his abilities. JJ doesn't hit me that same manner. But i get the comparison

My first post. I've been "lurking" for a couple days, trying to get info on JJ. I've finally jumped through the hoops necessary to be able to post.

First off, I come in peace. I have no beef with LSU, and hope that the winner of our games wins the national title (if we can't beat you, I hope nobody can).

It sounds like JJ will be sitting, which kinda sucks. Ideally I'd like our best against your best. I'd much rather watch Cliffy go after JJ's passes than Terrance Mitchell defending against the passes of whoever you start. I guess whoever wins will have to hear their haters tell them that they only won because lsu/oregon was without ________.

I guess the above sums up my feelings. Most Duck fans I know have been burned by people jumping to conclusions on player misconduct and feel that JJ is innocent until proven guilty. Don't think that a couple vocal fans on twitter represent our fanbase.

My take on the whole bar fight (which you may not be interested in hearing) is that it is probably not as bad as it seems. I'm not saying anyone is innocent, but when the facts come out, I'm guessing the actions will be understandable, if not condonable.

OK, too long of a post already. Thanks for sharing all your insight on here. Pretty solid board.

Blount got half a season over a punch after being taunted. They have some room to talk.

that happend on live t.v while in competition, completly diffrent. plus jj hasnt been proven guilty, just because a chump said it happend that way dosen't mean it is true

Meh...I'm still with the Oregon guy on this one. I don't want LSU kids punching other players in the handshake line but that BSU douche had it coming and the suspension really was a bit much (IMO). Dock the kid a couple of games and make him run stairs.

The ORS is the same for city and state. It's not an automatic trip, in fact speeding over 100 only became a prima facie crime a few years ago. The statute prior to that time which would have been closest is reckless driving.

I've stopped at least a half dozen people going over 100. I can't recall having taken any of them to jail simply for that. I stopped a guy going 112 right after the "over 100 MPH" statute making it a crime went into effect. I didn't take him. He wasn't reckless, he was on a straight stretch of I-5 and there was no other traffic. The fine was about 1200 dollars though.

I respect the fact states in the south are "law and order", but things are just a lot different in Oregon. People don't do jail time for first offense controlled substance offenses such as cocaine and methamphetamine. Under an ounce of marijuana is really common, and it's not a crime, it's a violation and not arrestable. There is no crime for possession by consumption. Also, caselaw regarding doing a search for the violation of possession of marijuana under an ounce based on smell alone has really tightened down the past few years. I wish Oregon was like other states which take people to jail for smaller amounts of weed, but we're not. We get what we get. Oregon is the most liberal state I've been in not named California.

No, not yet.

If Jeffereson would have kicked an opposing player in the head in the field of play, on NATIONAL TV, and wasn't suspended, they would have room to talk.

Ducks fans can care less if he plays or not... He is Garbage! He is the weakest QB that the DUCKS will face all year! It's not going to be a close game even if he was twice as good. He suck! Ask around!!

Yeah, I've heard that. I wont pretend to know enough about your program to know, but I find it hard to believe that Les wouldn't have chosen to start the better player.

I don't think either is really better than the other. Both are pretty bad. If Lee can limit mistakes he's OBVIOUSLY the better passer. The problem is, Lee hasn't proven he can limit mistakes...

A handful of dumb responses by Oregon "fans" does not reflect the majority viewpoint.

Most of the fans I have interacted with in the wake of this bar brawl is that of understanding, as Oregon has in recent years had several very public off-field incidents. Sometimes it resulted in suspensions, sometimes it resulted in players getting kicked off the team, and sometimes when the full facts came out it turned out to be much ado about nothing.

I choose to look at things on a case-by-case basis, and will wait for the investigation to come out before making any significant judgments on the matter. I certainly don't celebrate in any way others being in trouble, Oregon has players suspended for the game and maybe LSU will as well and maybe not.

The game will be played by the best players available for both teams, let's enjoy it for that aspect with the victory coming ON the turf, not off of it. I feel bad for any kids that get caught up in off-field incidents and find their names being dragged through the mud while investigations are still taking place, regardless of school affiliation.

Won't it be great when September 3rd rolls around and we can talk about what takes place on the field?

I'd be careful with that statement. LSU is not some weak assed PAC 10 powder-puffed team, even if we do have a weak QB.

Thanks for the info. I always assumed they would drag you to Jail. I figured that Oregon would be lenient on the weed and I don't have a problem with that as long as it doesn't put anyone's life in danger when/if driving, I just done' know enough about the effects of smoking pot to judge anyone for doing it.
