It's frustrating for many to hear "we have one of the top rated recruiting classes in all of football" and see what takes place on the field - talented individuals who are not utilized properly and coached to their ability. Many times I feel we win based on talent alone and not what some of the staff has brought out of the players.

Great post. It's this attitude that LSU football owes them that kills me.
I do agree there should be some critical comments when they are warranted. However, when all you do is bitch and say the same thing over and over it's worthless. Do something about it. If I was as mad as some on here I'd sell my tickets, quit watching, boycott anything LSU.
I guess you guys have your girlfriends sleep with other guys and you just bitch about it instead of leaving them.

We don't need the thought police sanitizing all posts. Dissent and criticism is part of the American way. That said, this is Chicken's board and he can run it any way he chooses. I, for one, am thankful there is a place to come discuss LSU athletics with other passionate fans.
LSU fans are some of the best in the nation. I wish that those on the "posi" side would stop questioning the allegiances and loyalties of those with a different opinion about Les Miles.
LSU football is a way of life for many people. They give a significant portion of their income over to the Athletic Department in return for a seat at the game and a spot to eat and drink before and after it. These people have every right to comment on the product they see on the field. If you don't want to read what they post, then don't read it. If you want a "positive only" board, than go start one yourself. I am willing to bet you wouldn't have many posters. It's called the Rant for a reason.

The majority of these loser are either college kids that have no clue, or are fans of other teams posting as an lsu fan. Naturally, the young kids (punks) spend way too much time on a computer and thus are represented more here than they should be. They are still at the age where they still think they know everything.

I suspect it would be harder for chicken to implement, but maybe it is sufficient to have a "ignore" button, where once you "ignore" another poster his posts show up empty.

This is laughable.
Expecting NCs every year is obviously asinine.
Expecting to compete at a high level is more than legitimate.
Expecting some sort of consistency is more than legitimate.
When we do have a down year (which happens), expecting improvements from the previous year, and not wanting to see the same old shite, is more than legitimate.
Peoples' gripes are more about the overall direction the program is heading, not that we "aren't winning championships every year."
Get off your high horse. Just because you're older than most or have seen more games doesn't make you any more qualified to have an opinion.

Another bullshite argument.
Nobody "hates LSU football." If they truly did, then sure, sell their tickets...that's fine. The problem is that people LOVE (even lust) LSU football, and they pay lots and lots of good money to watch LSU football. So, as paying customers, they should be happy with the product they pay such big bucks for. And the last couple of years, there hasn't been a lot to be happy about.
It's not "what can we do."
It's more "what can LSU, as a program, do to fix this?"
Believe it or not, but football is for the fans. And if LSU cannot put a decent product on the field, it can expect to start losing money due to that.

Good post, but 2 boards won't do it. What will do it is aggressive deletion of posts and banning of posters who post inappropriate material. This, however, will require the owners of the site to choose between what's best for LSU and what's best for their bottom line. I'm not optimistic about the outcome of that dilemma

You're missing my point. Continuing to bitch and saying the same things changes nothing. As paying customers you're promised your seat, that's it.

As I said no one will be happy
I've seen poster with constructive criticism not bashing players, coaches, just the over all game and the "positive" side come in and belittle the individual for being negative.
I've seen posters with great examples of positive examples to take away from games and the "negative" posters come and belittle them.
There is no solution to make both sides happy, if people would quit taking all this personally then half of it would cease. Both sides have good posters and shitty posters, both sides have idiots, YOU WILL NEVER MAKE EVERYONE HAPPY.

No, you're missing mine. It's paying for your seat to watch a good product. You think LSU thinks fans will continue to show up to watch a shitty product? If you do, just ask the basketball department (or the football department in the early 90s). It's their job to put a good product on the field.
And fans have every right (shite, most ven pay for that right) to bitch and complain about things they aren't happy with. As much of a right as people have to praise the good things.
Something tells me you'd have no problems with this board if it was full of sunshine and candy and praise for Miles, his staff, and the team. But what you're missing is that the praise and the bitching all hold the same amount of merit. Sure, bitching about the same shite over and over, like you say, doesn't change anything. But IMO it's pretty damn telling that the same shite gets bitched about constantly...because that means that there is inherently no improvement.
