There are 128 FBS Division 1 programs. Any fan that feels that anything short of spot in the playoff or a BCS Bowl game is unacceptable when you are playing in the toughest conference in America is completely out of touch with reality.

It's frustrating knowing that LSU was the better team. Felt that going in and the total domination of bama in the second half reflected it. Kids are just making too many mistakes still to be a dominant team...you can dominate a team, and still lose, if you make mistakes. Much like the OM game, where LSU dominated, but too many mistakes. They are young, they will put it together.
I'm proud of this young team with the turnaround they have made during the season. They literally may have the best defense in the nation at this point. Don't worry about all the pathetic posters on here saying season a waste, over, etc., they are mostly young kids without a clue....I look forward to LSU closing the season out strong and continuing to build momentum going into next year. You are correct though, this is a hard loss, and the kids played their hearts out.

Well if we lose the next 2 games we'll be in the independence bowl.

You mean the miracle of bama beating state and ole miss beating state....yeah that would just be totally miraculous.
It's hilarious listening to these negatigers. The fact is that the SEC Champion will be in the playoffs. Had LSU ran the table, they would be ranked very highly, and they had a great shot at the West, which would have put them in Atlanta and great shot to win the SEC.
All that needed to happen was:
Bama beat Miss State at home
Bama beat Auburn at hom
OM beat State at home....
all will likely be favored. Anyone saying that LSU didn't have a chance at playoffs is just it melt mode.

Not at QB. THE most important position on the field...

A great turnaround... Game could have went either way last night.

But blew it when it counted most..... I just don't get that........

Even with crappy QB play LSU should be top 5 to start next year...
But this season still can be a good one... Beat Arkie and A & M, and get to the Gator Bowl or something like that is ok for such a young team....

so ben, you don't think bama could beat State and Auburn at home, or OM could beat State at home?
that's all that was needed....while certainly no gimme, it also wasn't unrealistic.

well, in reality your pick didn't influence the game......
but, whether warranted or not, when you picked LSU is was like the kiss of death. Just the fact that the way you see things is usually completely opposite as to what happens. I don't think there is many on this board that will disagree.

Did YOU pick LSU in this game??????

I certainly did, before you got in on it. In fact, I said that I thought LSU had the better team, and wouldn't be surprised if they win comfortably. I also picked LSU to beat OM. You said OM couldn't beat LSU...which is a joke to say. When you picked LSU this week, as you remember, I actually posted that was a major concern....nothing more than the fact you are always wrong and like a huge jinx. Again, EVERYONE on this board knows that about you...there is a reason for it.

So me picking LSU became a major concern for the team and their chance of winning????

Ho are YOU doing in College Pick'em compared to me??????

and like a huge jinx
So AGAIN... You are saying that me picking LSU was the reason they lost???? You are a AWFUL LSU fan........

It hurts that we lost this game the way we did, but people need to get a fricking grip.
This was always a rebuilding season. We weren't going to play for the national championship, and if by chance we backed in, we wouldn't have won.
Take it for what it is: we have an extremely green team. Our soph QB looks lost out there, but is extremely composed and savvy under pressure compared to our freshman QB. People fuss because he doesn't get the ball to our "playmakers"; who are they? A soph WR with 7 career catches coming into the season... and thus the most experienced guy we have? A trio of true freshmen? The 2 career backup RBs we returned? What type of production are you really expecting from that?
And yet, our coaches are making significant progress. Alabama, Auburn, Miss St and Ole Miss are experienced, talented, top 10 caliber teams. We went from getting rolled early on by them, to physically competing against them now at a level where we complain that we should have won. We beat Ole Miss despite a lot of miscues, and should have beat Bama too. If our team can keep the right mindset, the next 2 games are much better matchups, and we can finish this season 9-3, same as last year. That's a HELL of a rebuilding year. And next season, we'll have a lot more experienced team, still young and improving, ready to make a national impact.
See it for what it is. Things are looking good here.
