I think it depends on who we're playing. Ole Piss has a weak defense so he ran it down their throats. He probably won't run as much on Georgia and Bama.

I agree on Georgia. I bet he runs it a dozen times against Bama.

Nine runs seems to be a lot. Worried about injuries and fumbles

Yeah I was about to say the same thing. It was the right game to cut him loose vs a smaller, weaker D. Now every DC is having to gameplan for the Burrow runs and we will need those plays to beat GA and Bama. Burrow said it himself that getting hit standing in the pocket is worse than getting hit as a runner.
thank you. That's why 'being vanilla' to 'hide the playbook' is so much bullshite and a rant invention.

This. Why would we want to rely on E, or anyone for that matter, to predict when the defense alignment is suitable versus having Burrow, or any QB, look at it and see for himself.

I say keep running him, but limit it, about 5 designed runs a game. If you establish the run with NB and CEH, it will open it up. Just like the long run against OM.

D You don't say. Why take unnecessary risk that could result in losing Joe for the season? Joe is as smart as he is tough, he knows what he needs to do.

And this is where despite average numbers, Burrow is head and shoulders above anything we've had at QB in a while. His ability to check to other plays, make quick decisions and improvise are why we sit at 5-0. The consistency and accuracy will improve as he gets more familiar with his players and the offense, but his ability to read defenses and make proper checks is invaluable.

Hes not wrong, we are getting a very positive result when he runs, but is the risk worth the reward. Situationally, I say yes.

It would be pretty bad if we lost burrow to injury, but at this point, we're 5-0 and have everything to play for. If it improves our chances to win games, its worth the risk.

I don't normally err on the side of caution but jesus....losing Burrow and having MB come in and have to carry on....not worth it IMO.
