LSU 17,Ole Miss 16. John Ferguson's call of the ending was fantastic. The clock operator may have been the WMU-Michigan clock operator's dad or graddad.

My dad decided to go hunting that weekend so he let me invite my best friend and his parents took us. They were pretty religious and church was in the morning so we left early since we were losing. We heard the famous radio call on hwy 190 somewhere around Erwinville.

I remember listening to it with my dad here in Birmingham on the old "Pick of Dixie Network."

I remember the next afternoon out in the front yard with my dad. We marked off 10 yards and had my mom time throwing and catching a ball and how long it would take.

We were there in the student section. I still maintain it was the most electric moment in Tiger Stadium.

The fans stayed and cheered loudly L-S-U for 20 minutes after the game. We simply did not want to let go of that moment.

I attended the 1979 USC and Bama games, the Earthquake Game, the 2003 Georgia game and the 2019 Florida game. They were the All-Electric Games.

But that Ole Miss game was special.

I was there, right in the southeast corner of the endzone where the ball was caught.

That's where my high school buddy's were sitting.

I had a "better" seat on the West Side 5 yard line (South side of the 50) down low, but high enough up to see the game well.

My no-alcohol undamaged brain remembers that game like it was yesterday.
That's one big advantage of not destroying your brain cells with alcohol: You have your memory intact!
