But we don't.

I'm just saying we got a long ways to go. I think we'll be ok. Remember Pelini's first two games against ASU & TN in '05.

Lets cancel the rest of the season since there is no chance for improvement by anyone on the team.

the obvious circumstances of the game...UW clearly wanted to be there a whole lot more than LSU, new coach, qb back etc...LSU looked a bit lethargic, tired, jet lagged whatever you want to call it

the defensive numbers are a little bit misleading. Most would take the position that LSU saw no improvement in defense from last year. I differ from that for a couple reasons. Last season LSU was being picked apart every down with chunks of 10 yards at a time in mass confusion while looking towards the sidelines ad giving up mass amount of points. I wouldn't call this year's version porous

you know LSU gave up no more than 475 yards last season but gave up 50+ points twice, LSU gave up 478 in this game giving up only 23 points

if you look at the yardage breakdown, UW gained nearly 300 of its yards on 5 plays, thats 5 plays...additionally i would say at least 3 of these 5 plays were the result of piss poor tackling and not necessarily being out of position. LSU was good at getting the 3rd and longs which proves to be key to the success of any defense but we went a little soft in 3rd down coverage and i think this has to do with being burned on the all out blitz on UW's 1st 3rd and long.

unlike last year, where LSU just got picked apart play after play, LSU would hold strong for the majority of downs but would falter on 1 and thats all it would take, thats why the huskies had so many yards but not so many points, only 23 with a garbage TD

i also like the fact that the defense pretty much held down UW in the 2nd half, pretty much half their yards came down to the final drive in which LSU was clearly in a prevent D

additionally unlike last year because of the previously mentioned, there were clearly some bright spots on the D. Patrick Peterson is disgusting, just disgusting. The linebackers look significantly stronger, Cutrera was fantastic and Coleman laid the wood as well as Sheppard...the D-line however needs to wake the hell up especially on the pass rush. Josh Downs looks awesome

in conclusion, eliminate the "big play" and the defense is fine as long as the offense remains as consistently productive as it has been the past few seasons

Les said that LSU was preparing to play the season(not WASH), and Washington was preparing to play LSU...big difference...and locker>snead, time will prove this

It's one F'ing game, dude! I'm glad that you're not the one calling the shots. Jump off the bandwaggon now...you're a bad representation of LSU Fans!

I will come back and admit that I am wrong if I am wrong!! This is my opinion so stop hating and get over it this is what I think!! Chavis is not the answer for an LSU defense!!
