I recall someone posting that one of the LSU players knew the ball boy and was horsing around with him, which the U players took as some kind of harassment, and then proceeded to get KTFO.
Yeah it was D Bowe.
The way I heard it, he was playing around and took a Miami ball or helmet and ran back to the locker room with it. And some Miami dudes took it seriously and went after him.
I also heard the Miami dudes had been talking shite all week and broke some little LSU mini helmets on tables at some kinda pregame event/ dinner in the days before the game.

And that day was the official demise of the Canes. Irrelevant since that single day. I think that it was also the end of the Larry Coker era.

Some posted the other day, why no love for Joseph Addai.
Well, he sure deserved some love that day. He was one helluva workhorse.

Went with my Miami buddy who started off jumping out of his seat and yelling if Miami got a 6-yard gain. He was begging for us to leave early in the 2nd half - ha ha.

He couldn't evolve to us at that point in his time here, however he could introduce himself to the country. That night the country knew LSU wasn't going away. 2 years later we won the luckiest national title of the BCS era, though we were clearly the best team. Irregardless the luck, that night set the stage for 07.

LSU was great before but the swagger was built that night. Beat the shite out of a national brand on national tv.

Living in Miami, we thoroughly enjoyed the beatdown and meltdown of 'cane fans. Furthermore, we were seated in front on the plane welcoming their fans with our "four notes" on the flight back to Miami.
