O/U 30 carries for Price?
Think the best thing to do is to chew up clock and keep that Ole Miss offense off the field.

Absolutely, if we can.

I am still in shock that we went from a historically bad rushing team to putting up 300yds rushing on FLORIDA just by changing to an uncomplicated running philosophy and inserting a walkon TE into the lineup.
IF IT WAS THAT SIMPLE THEN WHY DID WE WAIT SIX GAMES IN TO DO IT!!!

Funny in only a week we are a ground and pound team

I posted this in another thread but fits this thread also.
in Addition those last 3 teams ran 50, 58 and 50 times.
TDP rand 36 of 45 against UF, so Ill take the Over
quote:
Ole Miss in their last 3 games (all SEC games) have allowed;
210 Rushing Yards (Bama)
350 Rushing Yards (Arky)
222 Rushing Yards (Tenn)
*Each Team had at least One 100yrd Rusher*
Those Teams Rushing Offense Nationally Rank #65, #8 and #6
While LSU on the season is ranked #104 with 117.1 ypg, In the last two games with the changes made, LSU is running for 234 per game (too small of a sample size, I know). Which if that were the current average per game, would be ranked 12th Nationally
Another interesting stat from looking at Ole Miss's (or is it Miss' ?) schedule. Besides Alabama and their FCS game, Each opponents QB has been one of/or the top rusher/s in each game even with the Sack Yardage deductions. That accounts for 25% of the Rushing Yards they have gave up on the season (301 of 1178). Do we see Max Johnson eclipse his 45 rushing yards from the 2020 game?

Our rushing defense is terrible and it has been since 2016. We especially struggle with big power backs. There is a little more backbone to this defense and they might force a few stops or a field goal in the redzone, but make no mistake, the Tigers will get plenty of yards on the ground.

Our defense did a great job against the Vols, relatively speaking. However, they still got their yards, as the Tigers will too.

222 is under their Average on the year, so I believe you. Ive only seen some 10-15 min highlights of that game. Plus the Second Halftime highlight

THIS. Control the LOS, down/distance and the pace of play. Gotta get TDs vice FGs.
DEF needs to make a handful of key 3d down stops OR get a few turnovers. We did both last year, and it was part of the W recipe. We can do this.

CEO would try and pass.
Thinking Interim CEO will take advantage and run.

I been saying this but I got downvoted. There’s no way we could run out the backfield without a lead blocker. We had great backs because of fullbacks

Also pulled Hines for Martinez. Based on how God awful Hines had been playing I think this played a key role in the success as well.

Utilizing Mashburn at TE/H-Back was indeed a simple. Changing a blocking scheme takes a little more doing. Especially after hiring a new OC and new O-line coach, who wasn't even brought on until mid-June. It wasn't rocket science, but its not something you can do mid-game and likely wouldn't try to do mid-season unless your running game was a complete shite show....which ours of course was.

Anything near 200 is a win for the Rebel defense.

We should have a field day if we rush like last week!

Same with Tuscaloosa. Rush the ball like that and LSU doesn’t lose another game.

Well, we aren't going to do it running the same play over and over again as we did against fla. OM has been watching film all week and I'm sure have a good plan on how to stop it. I would love to see some quick play action passes out of that same look. LB's come up and throw behind them for big slant gainers.
