YOu can’t be that dense can you. I highly doubt he meant giving a take with 2 strikes... maybe earlier in the AB. Where he could have drawn a walk without gifting strikes that barely reached the plate

I love 20/20 posts. Let's rewind to the B9. We swung early in the count and often, even when the OM was struggling to find the zone. That resulted in a 6 run inning. Had those been outs, I'm sure we'd have seen a rain of posts criticizing PM for our approach for not working the count. The mental gymnastics y'all play to blame coaches will never stop being funny to me.

I wonder how many coaches would give a guy hitting nearly .350 the take sign on anything other than 3-0.

Watson chases two pitches in the dirt... your response is to blame Mainieri. Is that just the knee jerk response every time a player doesn't execute

Plate discipline has been a HUGE problem all year. It’s May. It’s on the coaches at this point.

No problem, wish today would have had a better outcome

Post game notes

James Moran

quote:

Paul Mainieri never considered going to Zack Hess.
Hess ran down to the bullpen and started warming up on his own. Once Paul saw him, he made him sit down.
“I have a conscience. I want that kid to have a good, long career. I wouldn’t do that to him on one-day’s rest.”

Wilson Alexander

quote:

Zack Hess went down to the bullpen in the 10th inning and started throwing on his own, Paul Mainieri said. #LSU

Relax, all we have to do is get to 20-10 in conference. Just can’t lose again. It’s early.

This is a typical CPM team. Base running is bad at times. Hitting is erratic. Little pitching depth and still looking for a closer. Always messing with the lineup and pitching rotation. Critical injuries.

WEAK arse ASSISTANT COACHES AND POOR COACHING DECISIONS AT CRUCIAL TIMES.

Hey, what should we expect for a million a year? Lol.

Love this mentality - that's why he is one of my favorite Tigers.

B2b2b and then Fontenot walks the leadoff ?!?!? Skipper would have been out there so fast and giving him the business before pulling him. I’ve seen it happen. It’s an attention getter to your pitchers. There is absolutely no excuse to walk the leadoff. It’s not allowable!!
