We need to put Hughes in for Beloso. He can get an occasional hit and he's more patient and has a better eye at the plate. More likely to get a walk. And more likely to beat a throw to first.

I’m not sure that Hughes has been cleared to hit

He’s gone in for defense late in games where he wouldn’t get an at bat
