A normal person would take pause that nearly everybody on this thread who actually watched both regards Hodson as the better QB. Heck, maybe Everybody. This one isn't really close.

Stat Boy here is happy having half the information and arriving at his decision. That you are "an advocate" for Russell is sweet. But I'd rather just let the people who ACTUALLY WITNESSED BOTH explain their reasoning. As you will notice if you take the time to rationally review the thread, it's not even close.

Sometimes the INTANGIBLES overwhelm the stat lines. And that's where this battle is won by Hodson. It's why Tyrann will go down as an all-time great and others with similar stat lines won't. And it's why those LSU fans with knowledge of both will always value what their eyes actually saw in the context of the game, more than what a stat line reads. You can't explain Tyrann, you had to witness him. Good luck explaining to a kid 25 years from now who never saw him, why he was better than this year's flavor. And that Son, is what is eluding you in this discussion.

and the vast majority are ignoring any objective evidence and i'd imagine most are old and skew towards hodson's era

so subjective, biased opinions are a superior measuring tool compared to objective data?

does that apply to just this discussion? or LSU QBs? or what?

tyrann is an all-time great based on his stats (turnovers, sacks, return yards, etc)

no you can post his stats in 2 years and that gives the picture.

we have his stats. if another player surpasses his performance, then i don't see why there would be an issue

Here is how the vote breaks down:

Those who saw both and give the nod to Hodson: 27
Those who saw both and give the nod to Russell: 1
Those who only saw Russell and don't know wtf they are talking about: SFP.

Jesus SFP, you can be a real hack when you really commit to it.
And the whole "old guy" argument is so fricking lazy. It's like "you hate Obama because he's black" thing.
