Gillespie hates playing regionals at the box
Brought those usc teams in along with last team to play in box - uc Irvine
Those were some fun times

He was a great coach, and got us in Omaha in 98. He always got a lot out of his teams and was a good baseball man. You could probably put his name in the thread title out of respect.

What a great way to live a life--coaching baseball in Southern California!

That UC Irvine series was special. Great, exciting baseball and an amazing way to close out the old Box.

Good baseball coach. Kind of an a-hole, but respect

Sucks seeing all of these legendary coaches passing away. A lot of them are the reason why college baseball is what it is today

It was a kind gesture by LSU to give Mike Martin a nice send off to the CWS. Too bad Martin never won it like Skip. But I know coach Martin was glad that he only had to face Paul Mainieri and not Skip.

I left early before the big comeback in 2008.
