Poorly written. To make a claim that were "still fighting the civil war" is a terrible choice of words. If you disagree, right on bro.

Yeah, that division's 1-3 showing in the Bowls last season was extremely impressive.

This is no knock on the South. We all have our peculiarities.

You are defined by your opponents, a truth I’ve been trying to teach out here for decades. It’s great for OU when OSU wins. Great for Nebraska when Texas wins. Great for Texas when OU wins.

Excellent competitors push you and drive you to excellence yourself. If you don’t believe in that, go join the Sun Belt.

It’s kind of cool that SEC schools lay down hostilities in the name of kicking some Northern tail, or at least some non-conference foe.

seriously, did yall read the article?

Well, since you asked, the SEC-East and the SEC-West. Hell, even the Big 12-North teams had a better bowl record.

Okie State and Baylor are johnny come latelys, and take away Griffin, Baylor is still terrible. TTU is on tha fence every year, and I'm one of their alumni telling you this. so only Texas and Okie stand out every year.

How can you say "That same USC team that was beaten by one player(Vince Young) the following year."

But leave out the part that "That same Auburn team was beaten by USC the two previous years."

Al Borges? It wasn't the same team.

This is a perfect example of the point I was trying to prove earlier. Throughout the year, Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State spent time in the top ten. But it was all smoke and mirrors. They had not played any one out of conference that held a realistic chance of beating them, so we had no way of knowing how good they truly were. Well, come bowl season:
Oregon was better than Oklahoma State
Mississippi was bettern than Texas Tech
Florida was better than Oklahoma
However, Texas was better than Ohio State. But child, please. That was Ohio State.

So sure those teams looked good when compared to each other, but the true test of how good they are comes when they play other teams out of conference.

Therefore, when teams from the SEC play other BCS opponents, it benefits LSU when they win.

Except Alabama. They can lose every freaking game they play for all I care.

Sorry. But outside of Texas, none of these teams have proven to be worthy of much praise.

In the last 5 years, other than Texas, what have any of these teams actually accomplished?

Come to think of it, have any of the other teams even won a BCS bowl in the last five years?

Why should anyone be impressed?

why do you people keep bring up the past?

they have 5 teams that are going to be in the top 25 all season long. maybe they will get waxed in their bowl games, who's to know. but i still have not seen which division is better.

Um--is there a better way to determine how good a team is? Looking at what a team has done in the last five years usually gives you a good idea what that team is all about.

So you're saying you can predict the future.

Can I have this week's winning Powerball numbers?

Not that it matters but I can distinctly remember Cal chanting Pac-10 Pac-10 Pac-10, after they beat Tennessee. Does not look like he did to much research. And the reason everyone hates LSU is because we have the best team, stadium, and fans in the country.

Well, Einstein, since this frigging season hasn't even started yet, what else is there?

The Big 12 South has been and is the most overrated Division in college football, especially last season. Their pathetic bowl record last season proved that.

Let the fans hate us, the same way people hate USC, hate Notre Dame, hate Michigan or Ohio State, it just means we have arrived.

Exaaactly. That was my point. I was replying to the guy who said that Auburn would've given SC all they could handle in '04 because the '05 SC team lost to Texas. Retarded argument.

Let's see.

You go undefeated like a hot knife through butter through your "conference".

Vince Young beats you single-handedly.

That spells O-V-E-R-R-A-T-E-D
