Jabbar wants to coach and could most assuredly get the post guys. He has actually done some assistant coaching but don't know if he is ready. One problem I have, history has shown this...great players very very seldom become great or even good coaches (in any sport).

Marshall would be a good one, eustachy would be great but I think he may be damaged goods. I would like to see Kermit Davis, or barnett from virgina his wife is from here and the acc is a tough place to recruit, none of the duke guys appeal to me at all, johnny jones may get a look because of dale and collis, the next hire needs to be someone who understands the sec and what it takes to recruit an sec caliber player. As much as I hate to say this I think we are stuck with TJ anyway, which is a shame, anyone else would have been fired after last year.

Would Nolan Richardson be interested in getting back into it> He would bring instand excitement.
Posted on 3/1/12 at 6:43 pm to Lovethutigahs
I doubt he has the full energy for it.

talk about damaged goods, nolan richardson is done and has been since he ran his mouth. Not to mention old school coaches that were successful before the NBA rule will never be successful. You can't build programs the old way.

Timmy Bryd.
Then maybe we get Javon Felix and Ricardo Gathers?
A true PG and solid big along side JOB.
CHAMPIONSHIP!!

we just need someone who can recruit and play an exciting brand of basketball. the rest will take care of itself.
You laughed at Randy Livingston, but I feel like he can fill this bill. Haven't heard anything but glowing things about his BB IQ and knowledge of the game. Definite ties to La. (including obvious strong ties to NO area). Head coaching experience (even if it is NBADL). He should be on TJ's staff right now. Freaking TJ wouldn't hire him.....
TJ=moron
I'm sorry. Not trying to be negative, but I'm so sick of watching the mediocrity that is LSU BB. Look at the starting 5. Not one La product (unless you count Storm starting part time). It's very frustrating to watch solid Div I talent stream out of the state year after year.

I like Byron Scott or hire a top NBA assistant.

Collis Temple.
The best recruiter we've ever had.

Randy Livingston or Tim Floyd

we aren't gonna get a name that excites the fan base. hell, most LSU fans prob don't even know most of the names on my list above. we just need someone who can recruit and play an exciting brand of basketball. the rest will take care of itself.
Agreed. I don't think LSU has the kind of fans that appreciate a grind it out, defensive kind of basketball team.

Just my 2 cents, but we really should begin looking for another coach.
TJ came in and won the 1st year, but then things crashed and burned. This year had a glimmer, but now we're sliding out of NIT consideration.
Is this really why we got rid of Brady? I thought it was to take the program to the next level. That job looks considerably harder now than when we got rid of Brady; and I have my doubts as to whether it will be much better in the next few years.
Tiger basketball gives me the same vibe as the Hornets right now; just filling space on someone else's schedule.

Rick Barry
He was the leading scorer in the NCAA.
He was the leading scorer in the NBA.
He was the leading scorer in the ABA.
He won championships in both the NBA and ABA.
He was the leading free throw shooter some years.
He coached Albany to a championship of a minor pro league.
And if LSU were lucky, his youngest would follow him.
He still has one left who has not gone to college.
A couple of his boys were decent pros and were big time college players.
He was the only white person who played in the MLK jr memorial game that was some kind of fund raiser the biggest black NBA players organized.
