Gregg Marshall
Shaka Smart (long shot)
Steve Alford (good success at NM but no ties to the SEC/La.)
Chris Mack
Rick Byrd (kinda old)
Larry Eustachy (good coach. familiar with the region now)
I feel like some of these guys may be long shots but frick. Why not give them calls before JOHNNY JONES. I'd rather give Orlando Smith a call before him

Avery
from New Orleans
would be a great recruiter
knows the pathway to the pros would be a big seeling point to pot recruits
experinced Head coach
that would be interesting and he'd probably be great but I highly doubt Avery would take the job

Hell Tim Floyd should be called before Johnny Jones imo.

You dont need a head coach with ties to the region. You can always hire a recruiter/assoc head coach for that. We need a person to bring excitement.

we aren't gonna get a name that excites the fan base. hell, most LSU fans prob don't even know most of the names on my list above. we just need someone who can recruit and play an exciting brand of basketball. the rest will take care of itself.

Shaka Smart or Ben Jacobson

Any one of Dukes assistants would be great here. Collins and Capel too. Capel was a great coach barring some off the court issues. But Capel is probably #1 behind K for the Duke head job.

You laugh but he could easily bring his dad on as Assoc Head coach. Coach K loves that guy. And I will guarantee K will have a say in who runs the team when he is gone.

Brad Stevens would be the perfect fit for Duke when K retires

Put Amaker on that list too.

Billy Gillespie
we could sell him on the fact that Tigerland is stumbling distance from the PMAC

Hell he wouldn't have to go to Tigerland, Shady's "The official bar of LSU Athletics" is even closer

Randy Livingston - NBADL Head Coach

Any head coach from one of the state boys or girls teams that wins a championship in the next week will be better than TJ. I don't even care if it is Albany's Girls Coach or St. Thomas Aquinas boys coach... hell... John Curtis, Riverside, anybody.
