That's like saying Sarah Jessica Parker is attractive aside from her face.

If she gave me 3/4 of her money, always let me piihb, and gave me head at least once a day Id take a chance and give her a 2yr deal.

I don't think we can expect those terms out of Pearl.

Meh, he was a great recruiter, but his teams faltered in the NCAA and not a very good coach. He reminds me of Dale Brown-lite, which would be good for the program, but his NCAA trouble rules him out.

You mean all those teams in the in the "old days" that were loaded with New Orleans talent? Go look at the 80's rosters, not a whole lot of NOLA influence on those teams. However, if that's the kind of guy you want, then send a truck full of money over to College Station, TX.

Yes, Kennedy had N.O. guys on his Murray teams and SE La teams. He has health issues, so I would not go with him.

Suggestions like Kennedy and the UTk coach Bruce Pearl are interesting because those coaches are TEMPORARILY damaged goods.

I would go with UTk coach Bruce Pearl and eat the show cause and no recruiting until 2014.
The assistants can recruit until then. Its not that long in dog years. Its not like LSU is so CLOSE that we should just hang in there, hopeful like. Get Pearl in and at least let him coach them up behind the scenes.

As a Murray grad, I just have to say, I thought Kennedy was a flawed game time coach incapable of in game changes to strategy and a mediocre x's and o's guy. I would not recommend him for LSU under any circumstances. The fact that he got some decent PERIMETER players out of N.O. is not reason enough to buy him out of his TAMU deal. NOT ONE BIG MAN OUT OF N.O.

You can't just "eat the show cause." You have to formally prove to the NCAA that the coach has been rehabilitated and deserves to be re-hired, and that your particular program has a need and justification to hire him specifically.

Sure...we should do much better than Jones. cause LSU has had all this great success with BBALL.

And all these top coaches are banging the door down to be at LSU.

We may not be UNC or UCLA, but we have had enough B-ball success to not have to stoop to hire Johnny freaking Jones. Just because top coaches aren't banging our door doesn't mean we have to accept the bottom of the barrell.
