Ok, now I'm kinda pissed at Aranda

Leaving is understandable. But, with Brady gone, he coulda fished elsewhere instead of stealing Munoz.
From a pure selfishness perspective, it's smart.
But it feels like a bit if a dick move after all Coach O has done for him.
Oh well."rant over". (that IS part of this site, right?)
Edit: My preference to keep him was for the sake of retaining the learnings that Brady brought to the program. From accounts, Joe Burrow attributed his success to Brady, Coach E and Jorge. My point is simply that I am among those who REALLY wanted Coach E and Munoz to carry that torch. That's all. I am fully aware that Coach O and Coach E did not wish to make Jorge the OC, leaving him more lurable to Baylor. Obviously, Coach O sees a better overall staff configuration. I understand that. I just am expressing a preference, and a tad of dissapointment, that more of the 2019 braintrust will not be retained. And I fully understand Aranda taking him...thus the "kinda pissed" in title

If O really wanted Munoz he would've done what it took to keep him here
You really think Baylor wins in a bidding war with LSU for an assistant coach?

What all did Coach O do for him? I think yo may have that backwards.

O could’ve offered Munoz the same position. Clearly didn’t. Can’t expect to keep analysts as analysts if they’re offered real jobs

You didn’t need to start a new thread and whose to say O didnt tell him to go? Would have loved to keep him, but we only have one opening on offense for an “on field coach”. Don’t blame Aranda because he gave the guy an opportunity to not be an analyst.

What if O recommended him to Aranda? What if O had no plans of promoting Munoz? What if fans stay in their lane and let the professionals do their jobs? I don’t think Aranda would be doing this without some sort of blessing from O especially seeing how complimentary he was on his way out.

Does anyone of yal even know if LSU offered him to stay? Maybe they didn't offer him that same role as Brady and maybe just maybe that's what he wants, so yes if that is the case, let him go chase that upgrade in coaching if he desires, smart on Aranda's part to be honest

Maybe Munoz was told he was getting the promotion and approached Aranda

Ok, literacist. Learn to read nuances in a rant post. I understand all that. It was mostly a sentiment expression. I get it that other dynamics are in play
Hence the "kinda" in title and reference to him needing to build his program to succeed (selfishness).
Makes me wonder if Coach O had a deal with Aranda to stick out year 4 I'm exchange for bending over backwards to seed Aranda with success wherever he landed. Simpletons and naive persons won't like that possibility

have such great respect and love for Coach O," Aranda said. "When I called Coach O and told him that I was taking the Baylor job, he was so happy for me."
"I told him that I have learned more from him, than any other coach I have been around. His story of hardships, learning from those hardships, applying lessons learned, having success, and then sharing it with a group of men... There isn't a better story than that and I'm so blessed to be a part of that."

And now is where you pretend that O did not benefit be keeping Miles's DC on staff while he figured out the offense.
In the context of this thread, my post makes sense. No surprise people are going to try to twist it though.

Exactly. OP is dumb

Why can't we enjoy success?
This board has been reduced to bitching about losing analysts. These analysts cycle through here every 1 or 2 seasons. It's the nature of the position. Ronnie Wheat, lead defensive analyst, being the exception. I fully expect him to find an on-field position somewhere else as well.
Most of you had no idea Munoz existed until Brady left. Since then he's become the greatest offensive mind in the history of the sport.

I wasn't thinking about Miles at all. Now that you mention it, O did benefit from that hire, not to mention benefitting, as we all have, from Miles's decision to hire Orgeron himself.
You asked what O ever did for Aranda, I posted Aranda's response to that question.
Aranda said he had great love and respect for Coach O. That is at odds, IMO, with his actions of poaching a coach that Ed didn't want to lose, if that's what is going on.
I hope that is not what's going on.

Munoz is not a great hire. What don’t you get? Why did we go out and hire Brady if so? Dude spent years on a cheating team at ULL and was a wr coach! We give ULL a ton of shite and you’re going to ignore this? You know Munoz was on the staff when our offense was garbage before Brady.

I think it is a dick move as well. You have a coach that builds his house brick by brick. One of the people in the house leaves to build his own house. In the process of building his house, he starts taking bricks off of your house to build his. Why try to destroy the house the coach built that put a roof over your head? Definitely shitty on his part. Its like a salesman going work somewhere else and then trying to steal all of your employees from your business. Unless O ok'ed it, straight douchery on Arunda's part.

Maybe O is just looking for early retirement and gonna derail LSU football in process,
