OK - so now where are we?

Was this really all about Jimbo or bust? Are the stories of a 3rd Quarter pow wow to be believed? How could anyone be swayed TOWARDS Miles after that first half performance?
Ok, so now our guy is back. Is it "stay the course" or is it time for wholesale changes? Not sure I am following along very well. We are keeping the Head Coach, but we need to replace the Offensive Coordinator, Defensive Coordinator and Special Teams Coach? So, basically every major player but Orgeron and Wilson need to go? What does this say about where we are as a program?
Is Miles getting one more year to fix it? Or, did he just prove that he is bigger than Alleva and a completely immovable object free to do things his way as long as he wants to?
Lots of questions to be sure. I'm just not sure I have a very clear picture of the state of LSU Football right now. Can someone help me out?

A decent OC/QB away from giving Bama another long run for the money.

1. Les is the head coach for atleast 1 more year.
2. We need a new OC, QB coach, OL coach, and WR coach on offense.
3. We need a new special teams coach
4. A new DC would be nice, but it won't happen and Steele did put up a top 20 defense. Hopefully the players next year fit the Steele/Orgeron style, but I have my doubts.
5. Basically we're f**ked.

If I could have 1 I'd take a good QB coach

So, no issues with BDP or Steele? Defense and Special Teams are not a problem?

Basically Jimbo proved more difficult to obtain than was anticipated and King was cowed by the media coverage, so he called off the search yesterday. That's it. Galling that the media can bully our administrators.
As for the future, it will be more of the same. Miles has been the coach for eleven years. In ten if those deasons, he's lost two or more games. In each if the last three seasons, he's lost three or more. The offense had been dysfunctional every year since 2008, save 2013. Miles himself said he isnt going to overhaul it. In short, no rational basis for believing that anything will change or that we'll suddenly win championships.

First things first. I know we aren't beating them when u can't complete a forward pass after three yrs.

Where we are as a program? You will continue to have a 3 - 4 loss team every year with no championship aspirations, you will continue to pay for an "elite" program and receive average return. Hey TAF and LSU athletics how bout lower your prices across the board if that's all the fans will get for their money! While Les is a very personable guy, he is not going to produce that "elite" program fans are paying for. Sorry

This is pretty much how I see things, but I was hoping someone could get me off the ledge. I'm not ready to give up on Steele, yet, but clearly we are lost offensively and have been for a long time. Special Teams, long a strength of LSU Football, are now woefully lacking. Recruiting Staff is outstanding, but it's going to get awfully tough to recruit for a perceived lame duck head man. I just don't see a lot of positive momentum for our program right now. Tough to get excited about more Les. That said, I understand the groundswell to keep him. His record has been outstanding and he is a terrific face of the program.

We are in the Dark Age of Les Miles's offensive mind!
