Still doesn’t make sense wanting an 8 team playoff as a “solution”

Cincinnati is ranked Texas is not. You can think Texas is better or Cincinnati is garbage but that’s just your opinion. Aside from LSU and OU Texas lost to a mediocre TCU and needed a last second FG to beat Kansas at home.

Mississippi State would be no worse than a 2 loss team if they played the schedule that Cincy and Indiana have played.

The same Mississippi State team that lost to Kansas St? At home?

Ohio St skull fricking Wisconsin is like Bama prison raping LSU in 2018 because both losing teams were one dimensional

So by your metric, Clemson is now a bad team because they needed a stop on a 2pt conversion to beat UNC by 1 point.

But we are supposed to give credence to teams like Cincinnati and Indiana, who have beaten no one, as being impressive wins for Ohio State? Mississippi State would be no worse than a 2 loss team if they played the schedule that Cincy and Indiana have played

Stop and think about what you are saying, We are supposed to NOT give credence to a teams actual record but go off a hypothetical And what exactly are you basing this assertion that Mississippi St would be 7-2 playing Indiana or Cincinnati's schedule?

It seems you think your opinions are fine and someone else's is not of they reach a different conclusion than you

its not my metric and we weren't talking about Clemson, we were talking about Cincinnati and Texas and that's a really stupid conclusion to reach Cincinnati has won every game except for Ohio State, Texas lost to 2 top 10 teams, but also a 4-4 team by 10 had a close against a bad team, they have 1 decent win. You can think Texas is better than Cincinnati (and maybe they are(its not like we haven't seen these G5 teams beat good P5 teams before) but at the end if the day, you have go on what's happened not endless speculation about who would have what record playing who's schedule.

As for your idiotic Clemson remark, their close win was on the road vs at home for Texas and unlike Texas, they haven't lost. They are also #5, the lowest ranked unbeaten team in part because they had a close game against a bad team

You're being pretty dense if you think Jeff Sagarin just adds up the W-L record of a teams opponents and then bases a SOS on that.
There is a whole formula. OSU is 20. LSU is 34.

And Florida is 6, and Auburn is 4. Florida has played two FCS teams, btw. So there's that.
(Sagarin disregards these, to my knowledge).

I don't know what to tell you, man, but you're off the rails.

I read your post.

My question is how do you explain that ranking?

I can't. And even if I could, it wouldn't matter. That's where we disagree. I can look at THIS, a different link posted by someone else, read the composite rankings and say, "checks out." I don't feel like racking my brain over why these numbers are what they are.

And if someone wants to use the eyeball test and say that in all phases of the game Ohio State might have a slight edge over LSU, I can't argue with that.

The rankings will take care of themselves. If we beat Bama, we are #1 next week. We just have to win out. I do agree that Ohio st looked better so far in all 3 phases of the game, their schedule will amp up too. Our defense made Kyle Trask look like a Heisman candidate for 2.5 quarters.

As for your idiotic Clemson remark
You keep laughing and making snide comments for what reason exactly? You seem impossible to debate. I’m not aloud to speculate that Texas with 2 top 10 losses is a better team than Cincinnati, who has played 1 team worth a damn and they lost 42-0? Ignorance

Ohio St. SOS

-Higher ranked than LSU's
-better in scoring defense
-no. 2 overall defense, no. 1 against the pass, top 10 against the run
-defeated Cincinnati, Michigan State (ranked at the time they played them), and Wisconsin all in blowouts
-Justin Fields, Chase Young, and JK Dobbins

Case closed (though I'd totally rank LSU higher though I'm biased )

Lets see, Indiana 7-2... Wins over: Ball State (4-4), FCS Eastern Illinois (0-9), UCONN (2-7), Rutgers (2-7), Maryland (3-6), Nebraska (4-5) & Northwestern (1-7)......

Yeah, I'd say Mississippi State would win all 7 of those games

Nah. That year, LSU played like Ohio State this year - complete dismantling of almost everybody.

I call bs sos is not accurate when you blow away average teams compared to several highly ranked teams it’s the stress test
