Wonder how big the deficiency will have to be before they pull JJ??

If Miles lets this go on for two yrs in a row, he should pack his bags the day after Crowton is dismissed.

At some point, you have to be man enough to say, we made a mistake, and we're going to fix it. Not just continue to ignore it.

Actually happen three times. But my point was our offense was putting a good bit of points on the board in order for us to win. And lee was under center. If our defense would have been good that year lee would probably still be our quarterback.

so do i. one thing that really bothers me in many of the posts is the presumption that BOTH of our QB's are mentally fragile. i guess i'm old school, but what's this shite? mentally fragile. so, if our staff walks on eggshells in their dealing with them, maybe that contributes. play them both; maybe then they can support each other and be each others "psychologist". it's time for the coaches to let 'em play some football and when they make a mistake, let 'em overcome it. i really have a hard time with football players mental fragility. hopefully, that is conjecture only.

how about a 3 qb system? RS should be getting some snaps becuase he could theoretically compete for the starting spot next year, and easily start his senior year, even if we're an option-oriented offense.

i dont think anyone would complain with his wheels running the option with guys like Blue and Gore.

EDIT: although, this might not be good for our current and recruited WRs.

I don't really agree with that. Our offense was better then. And it was actually better no matter who was under center because JL averaged 28 points per game in his starts which was good and JJ averaged 34 in his two starts which was good. And I guess Hatch started and shared time in the beginning with Lee against the cupcakes. So it wasn't all on the defense that year (although it was crappy for most of the year).

But starting with the Georgia game, Lee had a really bad streak of games. The Ints. were one thing, but his accuracy level took a serious dive. It was about five games in a row and some against supposed cupcakes.

When he got hurt in the Ole Miss game toward the end of the half, we were down like 21-3 or something. JJ entered in a bad situation and immediately drove LSU down the field and scored a TD. LSU then cut it to one score in the 2nd half before the D ran out of gas and we stalled on offense. But JJ showed a spark and our offense definitely played better once he came in. JJ started at Arkansas because Lee was still injured and because of JJ's performance. We scored 30 against Arkansas and lost on the road when the D collapsed at the end of the game. He was named the starter of the bowl game and of course that went really well.

JL may have a chance this weekend to be a starter in the future or play significant time if he gets in this weekend. He has to do it in the game though. We already know that La Tech was an opportunity that was missed to show progress and close the gap at QB.

He just needs to relax if he gets in and realize that we have a good D with good running backs and that he doesn't need to take gigantic risks. Just take what is there and move the chains... If he throws long passes, he needs to put them in spots where if they're off, the WR is the only guy who realistically would be able to make a play on it.

NC state offense looks good.
Run some of the same plays we do minus the strike passes way down field.

well the thing is, jefferson was meh-decent-good-great in games last year.

he had a good offseason, and was expected to turn the corner.

doesn't appear the light has come on yet.

the "dumbing down" or simplifing the playbook that LM talked about this week is extremely alarming to me.
Seriously... JJ is a jr and has 17 starts under his belt.
It dont sound good to me.

I thought he was refferring to the reads more so then anything. Regarding interception JJ threw vs Vandy: JJ talked about after the game how the defense was in a cover zero and stuff. He almost over thought the play and should've thrown the ball away at least.

Long story short, I thought Miles was not reffering to dumbing down the playbook.

This.

I favor a series per half for Lee. . .more if JJ plays like Vandy again.

a series?

so hypothetically if JL comes in after JJ and say gets 50yrd drive and it results in a fg... take him out?

I don't understand why people have to discredit past performances from jefferson. he's played well for the most part in the past.

he had his "la tech" game...

let's see if he can get it together

I still would like to see what lee brings to the table in 2010.

Hopefully more than one series per half too.

Depends on how JJ is playing.

But you can't have both QB's looking over their shoulder. . .or else you get 2005 UTk.

Except we have 2 Rick Clausens.

If JJ comes out playing well and LSU scores a couple of TDs, there's not reason to mess with anything.

If he has a terrible 1st quarter, then let's see what Lee can do and go from there as to which QB plays the remainder of the game.

To all JLee haters: Put this in your pipe and smoke it:

Jarrett Lee Spring Game Highlights

eta: My bad, those highlights are from the 08' Spring game. I guess #2 should of tipped me off.
