Overall last season we managed 28.3 points per game.....

28 PPG is solidly middle of the pack, and we've done it without the McNeese game to pad the numbers a tad. I'm not arguing that's a terrific offense, but it's clearly not "anemic".

ha, miles trying to destroy the rant....ha.
miles might go 14-0 and the ranterds would be here raggin' on his acceptance speach and be calling for saban to come back.

The majority of last year's ineptness does not fall on Jefferson's shoulders. In addition, he was only a very young sophomore. He's learning.
Yet you are very quick to blame a RS freshman for interceptions. I guess he quit learning, while JJ is still learning? Which is it? Or is it just me?

Sure we play flat and don't do the little things right, but we still put up 30 and 27 points in weeks 1 and 2, respectively.
PP put up those points in week 1
SR put up those points in week 2
You cannot equate our point totals to our anemic passing game. #12 in the SEC, bud. Sounds like a bad rerun of 2009 to me.

Shhhhh!
Don't let the "sunshine pumpers" know that.

Not trying to.
Even with an inconsistent (at best) passing game, we're still putting points on the scoreboard. Things will click, people will have good games and bad games, we'll struggle at times...but we're still putting up points.

just me = king of the JJ "sunshine pumpers"
Please don't try to attack my arguments by attempting to attack my credibility. It makes you look like you have run out of arguments. Perhaps you have.
I am not a JJ sunshine pumper.
First, I have only posted facts and refuted inaccuracies. There has been a seemingly endless supply of posts pumping Lee based on nothing more than pure speculation and a completely unfounded belief that Lee is a better passer than Jefferson. The known facts don't support that bullshite.
Second, I am not enamoured with Jefferson. I have never said that his stats set the world on fire. I have repeatedly stated that Jefferson had a horrible Vandy game. I have repeatedly stated that Jefferson made five mistakes in the UNC game. I don't think Jefferson is going to win a Heisman this year or next.
Third, I have nothing against Lee. I have repeatedly stated that I hope Miles puts Lee in the game. I have repeatedly stated that I hope Lee plays much better than he has in the past. I have no ax to grind. If Lee becomes the starting QB, I have absolutely no problem with that.
Both Lee and Jefferson have represented LSU with class and dignity.
However, when confronted with totally unsupported statements that Lee is a better passer than Jefferson. or that Lee will scare DCs more than Jefferson, or that Jefferson cannot stretch the field vertically while Lee can, I will post the facts. And those facts do not currently support Lee.
The backup QB is almost always the most beloved man in town. There is a reason why that truism exists. Of course, there is also a reason why the backup is the backup.
I have not seen Lee or Jefferson practice everyday. The posters who heap mythic praise upon Lee have not seen Lee or Jefferson practice either. Therefore, I and they have no other informed opinion to rely upon other than the coaches who have decided that Jefferson is the starter.
I guess you can call me a fact pumper. You can also call me a bullshite eradicator.

The bottom line is something has to change...whether it is JJ getting better (which I personally don't think is going to happen lets just call that like my oppinion man) or someone else playing quarterback for LSU. The same ole same ole is not acceptable for me. Whether it is acceptable for our coaching staff remains to be seen I believe.

Who has more interceptions, Lee or Jefferson?
It stands to reason that they are both learning. The question is who gives LSU the best chance to win.
What facts suggest that Lee is a better QB than Jefferson?
Who has more interceptions?
Who has a higher completion rate?
Who has more yards per attempt?
Who has a higher ratio of TDs to interceptions?
Who has thrown more long passes?
If Lee is better than Miles will play him. Right now, Jefferson is starting. I don't know of any facts that suggest that Miles is making the wrong decision.

Well I think the jury might still be out on Les Miles' decision making abilities.

RS, SR, and AB each ran for a TD in week 2.
quote:LSU rushed for 150 yards in the fourth quarter of the Vandy game to finish with 280 yards, the most since a 321-yard effort against La Tech in 2007. When you can run that much, you don't need to pass much.
Sounds like a bad rerun of 2009 to me.

Fair Enough. I agree that the ad hominem attack towards you may of been a bit overboard.
At least you're willing to give Lee a shot if JJ struggles. I just don't see JJ as being anything but a sub-par QB in the SEC despite his skewed stats. It just upsets me that some posters (not you) automatically assume Lee is still an "interception machine" based on the 2008 season.

the future is not bright for the qb situation. we will be in the same position in 2 years that we were in 2008 unless we get a juco transfer

Nah, the jury has reached a verdict on that for a good while now.
