Then who does it fall on???
quote:We are two games into his junior year. Two road games against BCS opponents. Vandy was a horrible game. That happens. However, it was his worst game. He has played much better. The first half of the UNC game was very good. The second half of the UNC game was marred by penalties and fumbles. I saw lots of progress. I also saw a few horrible first game mistakes.
He is a JUNIOR this year....So far he looks no better(UNC game) and worse (Vandy game) than last year.
quote:I have, and I do. I hope Lee plays much better than he has in the past. One would think that he has improved.
Considering the young and learning thing, why not extend that same courtesy to Lee?

Maybe Miles is **trying** to destroy the rant....maybe he has that particular "want"
This is certainly possible.

To loosen up a great defense, we must be able to stretch the field.
Lee, although not great, does give us that ability.
Please, show me the game statistics that demonstrate that Lee has more long pass completions than Jefferson. I'll wait.

There is an whole dimension to this team, perhaps the best dimension, that is almost completely unexplored because we cannot pass down the field.
You didn't watch the first half of the UNC game, did you.
So you are saying that JJ has a better arm than Lee?

Miles is going to ride the JJ horse all the way to the unemployment line

So many qb's have improved to NFL caliber material in their junior years. JR and Matt stafford come to mind off the top of my head. Heck Mauck and flynn (I know he didn't get his turn till senior year) also weren't steller as sophomors. I say lets just give JL a fair shake if JJ is struggling. Is that too much to ask.

Crowton is gonna take them both out first

The o-line/running game.
But with an improved running game and line this year our offense is STILL anemic.
That points to 'maybe" it wasn't as much their fault last year as it was the part that is STILL struggling this year.

Yep, 2 games into his Junior year. How much more "time" and "learning" does he need to be a serviceable quarterback that can legitimately stretch the field for LSU? Hell he only has 4 years of eligibility overall, and that number has already dwindled.
No offense, but by your Jr. year, with a whole SEASON starting under your belt, 2 offseasons as the starter and starting 2 major bowl games....you SHOULD NOT be having these difficulties, and asking the fans to wait it out so you can learn whats going on and have enough time to improve....

JJ had a beautiful 50 yard strike to RR against a UNC pass defense missing four starters in the secondary. JJ threw for less than 100 yards against a team that was lit up passing by NORTHWESTERN...
I am not saying Lee is the answer and I realize that you are probably arguing for the sake of argument, but to say that Jordan Jefferson is anything other than a sub-par SEC quarterback right now is laughable. He even realizes how bad is has been this year. Even if you give him the first half of the UNC game (which is generous), of the eight quarters of football played this year by LSU, he has played at a DIII level in six of them.
There is a reason why the coaches are putting the ball in JJs hands. Lee does not have a stellar past and may not have a stellar future. However, he needs meaningful reps for this to be determined.
When it is all said and done, it is insane that a program that has won two national titles in the last seven years is in the position with a QB and offensive coordinator in the first place. I place that blame squarely at the feet of Les Miles.

Fans boo JJ when he takes the field. To shut them up, Miles sends JL out on the field. 1st snap, JL throws a pick-6.
So you want JL to fail?

You JJ should thank your defense, but they may run out of gas real soon . If LSU loses, it's all on you, JJ.

While just me obviously doesn't need the help to make an argument, something is sticking in my craw...
LSU's offense is scoring 28.5 points per game, without the benefit of playing directional schools like most schools have done. 28.5 PPG is, well, good. And that's with Jefferson, admittedly, playing a terrible game against Vanderbilt.

Overall last season we managed 28.3 points per game.....
I realize that we haven't played some of the blowout cupcakes yet either, but honestly the values are not significantly different so far. That should be readily obvious I would think...

So you are saying that JJ has a better arm than Lee?
The facts also tend to suggest that Jefferson can stretch the field horizontally better than Lee.

Yea...he can stretch the field alright..backwards and not stepping up in the pocket
