I didn't say anyone was fired or that guilt was assumed in the LSU situation. I said Duke. I'm using it to show how Joe jumps the gun and caves to media pressure rather than making correct decisions. I want you to explain how "we will wait until more facts come out before taking action, as Coach Wade has not been accused of any wrongdoing" is not pragmatic. You can't, because the only place he's been accused of wrongdoing is by the media, Yahoo. Alleva let a news outlet make a decision for him by writing a hit piece.
ETA: Regarding protecting the university, why do you think suspending Wade "protects" LSU more than if he's allowed to coach? Do you think the NCAA will respect that they "took initiative" to suspend him? Look how well that worked for other universities.
The NCAA hasn't even said that LSU is under investigation. Why would they want a university to suspend a coach that isn't being investigated? That makes no sense.
There are no upsides to suspending WW. Only downsides.

He's on a fricking FBI wiretap
He obviously did something wrong, but you need time to see just how wrong it is by the letter of the law.
With all that being said, Wade still did not want to meet with LSU over this. Save all the legal shite that you think you know. Will Wade knows he is fricked, and he knows he has to take time to try and find the best way out of this.
If you are a rational person and understand why Will Wade did not want to meet, then surely you can understand LSU suspending him indefinitely.

This is an even worse take than "he's guilty because he's on a wiretap." This is the equivalent of "if you're not guilty then why don't you just explain what happened to the police?" You don't have to commit a crime to get yourself in a load of legal trouble by discussing a case.

I dont know if he is guilty or not. That is the whole point of gathering more facts.
It's like determining if someone killed another person in self defense or not. You know that 1 person dead, but you do not know if it is justified.
