I think they should go in the other direction and add back the short season leagues. I don't think minor league contraction was the right move for player development.

They've shaved 30 rounds off of 50

Have the brewers ever gone over the cap?

Probably, but that's not something that's easy enough for me to google quickly.

Their pool is only a shade over $7MM though and when you add the extra 5% it's only u$p to 7.4MM and change. That's why we need Misiorowski to go over slot. They won't have a ton of wiggle room.

Does Manfred have a ceremonial announcement for Mr. Irrelevant?

not really well versed on baseball recruiting, but looking at the first page it appears we lost a decent amount of incoming HS recruits and portal transfers to the draft?

Looks like all their 1-10 round picks have leverage except for 3. Those 3 are round 7,8, and 10. So won't be saving a ton there.

He doesn't, but it was good seeing him get booed on Sunday.

We did, but it was mostly guys we expected to lose. Of the guys that were 50/50, some even less odds, to get to campus it looks like we will make out better than expected.

"Teams that exceed their bonus pool face a penalty. Clubs that outspend their allotment by 0-5 percent pay a 75 percent tax on the overage. At higher thresholds, clubs lose future picks: a first-rounder and a 75 percent tax for surpassing their pool by more than 5 and up to 10 percent; a first- and a second-rounder and a 100 percent tax for more than 10 and up to 15 percent; and two first-rounders and a 100 percent tax for more than 15 percent."

We expected to lose even more high schoolers than we did, but losing the transfers kind of hurts. I still think Young and Neal make it to campus. Overall a very successful draft; if Young and Neal leave, then obviously it would hurt a bit though. Still a positive draft in my opinion

Anybody drafted can potentially sign or drag this shite out until August 1. As for me, I was totally hoping I would not see anymore names associated with us today and yes there is 1 round left and the UDFA possibilities remaining as well
