So what's the synopsis on all the incoming players drafted josh?
I have a good idea about all the current players...
Mahtook - Clearly gone, 1st round
Jones - Clearly gone, was going to take whatever
Ott - This one is most interesting to me, I thought he wasn't going to get touched first 20 rounds...I honestly would go if I was him
Alsup - Senior, gone either way, P.S. great for him going this high
About the signees...
Story - Gotta be gone in Comp A
Eierman - low to medium chance only because Rays have so many drafted before him (3rd rd.)
Cave - Rd.6 but went to a team who should give what he wants
Glenn - Rd.15 gotta think he will want more than what Toronto will offer
Nola - Rd.22 and same as Glenn, plus big brother looks to definitely be staying
Goody - Rd.22 but once again the frickin Yanks
Fields - Rd.27, Padres...should come to school, right?

I hope Glenn is coming. I think there is a good shot for us there. Nola should also be in P&G next year. I was excited to see Goody fall so low, but its the fricking Yankees...

Glenn's going to be in school unless he completely low balls himself and signs for around 500K. Toronto drafted about 11 HS players ahead of him including two high profile guys in Beede and Norris. There's no way he gets anything over a million, I would be absolutely shocked.

Draft was pretty decent this year.

If Jones moves to center and Hanover possibly back to 2nd...we need a 1B, 3B, and an OF position addressed by this class IMO.
I could see Katz as an adequate...though not ideal RFielder... and Jones in CF. Maybe Arby Fields is the guy in LF if he doesn't sign.
I've seen Bruno as the likely candidate at 1B. Any other signees here?
Hanover at 2nd, Nola at SS, maybe Barrios at 3B?
Ross behind plate and I see Rhymes as a possible DH.
I don't think top 3 signees will end up at LSU, but Cave would be sweet!
Where does Lowery and his bat fit in next year? Hmmm...

Lowery could play 3B and Bruno at 1B.
Fields could be an OF along with Katz and Jones.
I wonder if Magee could factor into the OF as well. He's a better baseball prospect than Ware.

Found this article that features a few quotes from Cave. LINK
quote:
"The Yankees came to almost every game this year and had guys who were higher up in their system come watch me," Cave said. "So whenever the Yankees would come up on the screen, I'd pay a little more attention to see if they'd call my name. "Of course, (Monday night) was a little upsetting because it's kind of a dream-type of thing. But I'm not dumb. Only 60 guys got to go last night. But as the day went longer and longer, I was like, wow, what's going on? It was tough and drawn out, but it was worth it because I'm happy now."
quote:
"I just got off the phone with my advisor," Cave said. "He said (the negotiation process) could be anywhere from a week to a month. You just don't know. It just depends on what happens."

So from what I have gathered: If one of Cave, Eirman, or Glenn comes to school then I should be elated.
Much better than in previous years.

you can narrow that down even further
eiermann is gone and glenn will be here. jake cave makes or breaks this class, imo. he can fill in at 2 need positions and also pitch, he is HUGE for 2012 season.

don't see how your could read those quotes by Cave and think there's a possibility he's not going pro

Seriously, he's gone. Clearly he's just waiting for the deal to get done at this point and not wondering IF a deal will get done.

You pretty much nailed it, I think Ott will go;
Of the big 3, I don't expect Cave, Story, or Eiermann. If I had to bet on one coming to LSU it'd be Eiermann.
Glenn, Nola, Goody, and Fields will be at LSU

Way to go Alsup. No one would have dreamed he'd go in the 18th round before May of last season.
Posted on 6/7/11 at 10:58 pm to josh336
If I had to put together a lineup now, it'd prob be
Fields LF
Hanover 2B
Katz RF
Rhymes DH
J Jones CF
Nola SS
Lowery 1B
Evan Powell 3B
Ross C
But guys like Bruno and Hanover possibly staying at 3rd could happen, Tyler Moore could figure in.

Why isn't Rhymes draft eligible?
Posted on 6/7/11 at 11:03 pm to josh336
Yeah he's at least 21.
Adam didn't list him. I guess he's not that great of a prospect. He's a solid hitter.

Well, when you really can't play anywhere in the field, and he doesn't really have the raw power that most of the mlb scouts are probably looking for
Posted on 6/7/11 at 11:07 pm to josh336
Bradshaw and Watkins are listed so I figured everyone eligible would be listed.
I knew Rhymes was eligible but that confused me.
