so all 5 of these guys just mentioned will probably come to LSU

Yes, unless they are willing to sign for 100,000-200,000 MAX which is stupid as a HS senior entering a elite school.

Per Adam, Eierman and Cave may go pro. He feels the rest of the guys drafted after, HS guys, should make it to campus. I am hoping we only lose Story.

I can wish.

I thought the Yankees didn't have a great reputation for spending big money on draftees. Last year the Yankees paid a signing bonus of $300,000 to their 6th round pick...a high school pitcher.

Does anyone know if we offered Cave a full scholarship? If not, Mainieri should probably make sure a full offer is on the table now that we have a small chance of getting him on campus.

Didn't at the time. Kinda forgot about him I see he was at the University of Tampa.

Adam, what role do you see the incoming pitchers filling in the staff?

I don't think he was, however that can/will change when the draft smoke settles at the end of the week.

LSU came out smelling like Roses. Most likely will keep Glenn, Nola, Baranik, and Goody who were the big 4 arms of this class. Luckily the rotation is already set with the 3 freshmen from this year so the newcomers will not have a ton of pressure to produce early and often. I think Nola or Baranik may compete for a midweek spot with Goody and Glenn in the bullpen.

in 2007 they gave $1 mil to LA native Carmen Angelini who was drafted in the 10th round.

if they like Cave a lot, which i'm sure they do, they will pay him.

Adam, are any of these 4 considered 2-way players?

The Yankees signed every pick in the top 13 rounds last year. The signing bonuses are as follows:
Round 1: $954,400
Round 2: $750,000
Round 3: $377,500
Round 4: $1,450,000 (a South Carolina signee)
Round 5: $150,000
Round 6: $300,000
Round 7: $150,000
Round 8: $45,000
Round 9: $450,000 (a Tennessee signee)
Round 10: $500,000
Round 11: Not Reported
Round 12: $300,000
Round 13: Not Reported

In the 6th round last year:
Padres paid $1,400,000 for a Florida signee.
Reds paid $975,000 for a Georgia signee.
Red Sox paid $628,000 for a Texas A&M signee.
DBacks paid $500,000 for a Kentucky signee.
An Oklahoma State signee and an LSU signee (Gausman) went unsigned from last year's 6th round.

Knowing all of that, I suspect the Yankees will pay Cave whatever he wants.
