Katz was one of the 10 best players in the SEC. Amazing.

I'd say top 30. But no defined position hurts him.

I agree. Next year for Katz sake Mainieri needs to put him in either RF or 1B and keep him there unless an emergency comes up.

I think this would have only hurt him if he didn't play either position well, he did fine at both spots. It's not like he was a below average RF or bad at 1B. Fielded .988 this year. We used him at both spots because Moore just had huge issues being a freshman against LHP.

Both would start somewhere without a doubt in my mind and would make the freshman all-sec team.

I think LSU will be one of the favorites in the SEC next year if not the favorite to win the SEC again.

top 30 what? player in the SEC?
he played 5 different positions in HS. He really could adapt to anywhere.

A little off topic but who was the highest drafted hs player to come to LSU that skipped the MLB? I would guess Jon Zeringue, but not really sure. Think he played at ED White in the early 2000's.

Off the top of my head it would be Zeringue who was taken in the 3 round of the 2001 draft.

Not sure if it has been said in this thread yet, but I saw on Nola.com that Rhymes said he is coming back to LSU.
I briefly looked through the last couple pages of this thread, but didn't see anything. I know him saying that now doesn't make it gold, but I tend to believe him.

I'd expect Mason to play 3B or 2B next year.

Another good piece on the draft & probabilities for next year. Who's the next Gausman/Ranaudo (Nola is Nola)? Stacked, esp. if we do get Gallo, too.
