I wouldnt be SHOCKED to see Gallo on campus. He wants to play a position and hit, but pros want him to pitch. He also thought he should have gotten picked top 15, so although he may sign anyway, I wouldnt be completely shocked if he came to LSU.
Diaz is long gone.

Gallo isn't coming here. He'll get close to a million I think. Plus the can tell him he'll be a position player, then flip that shite around on him after he's signed. Gallo's ship has sailed imo

Any chance they have to play JaCoby at 3B? Who do you see there right now?
There's some talk about putting Moore there, especially if they are looking to leave Katz at first.
Could be some really interesting lineup possibilities next year depending on if Bregman and others show up. Rhymes (or even Katz) at second? Jones back to the outfield with Sciambra and Jennings? Lots of possibilities.

Gausman agrees with this as well. He improved his income by about 3 mil in coming to LSU.

@FletcherKTBS: @LSUbaseball signee Hayden Jennings will sign with Washington Nationals after being picked in 6th round. No college--straight to rookie ball

Well hell, that did not take him long. So much for it will be a hard decision to make. Something does not sound right here. Way to fast on making a decision. No way they could have talked money already.

I know it's different than football and there's a lot of factors that will go into it, but assuming we only lose the top 3 recruits, what kind of grade or ranking should we expect to see from the recruiting gurus?

Big difference between turning down money as a stud pitcher and turning it down as position player. Difficult to re-capture potential projection after 3 years of college as position player. Zeringue is really the only LSU player I can think of that did it and he only jumped 1 round. You get picked in the 1st round or the supplement round, you go.

Sucks.

Gausman was a 6th round pick
Gallo is a first round pick. He's not going to improve his $ that much.

No way Rhymes plays 2nd. Katz either

Think Jennings would sign under slot? The Nats are gonna need to save some of their draft cap if they plan on signing Giolito.
ETA - Posted before I saw all the twitter links from KTBS. I am willing to guarantee that the Nats made a pre draft deal with him so they could set some money aside for Giolito
Per BA the 204th pick is slotted for $174,900.

Jennings got picked over where was predicted so his money total was likely lower. Being probably 4 rounds ahead of where he was likely to go ups his bottom dollar a lot.

Idea has been thrown out there as a possibility for both depending on other positions and holes. Rhymes played 2B at Eunice and, although he has improved greatly this year, is not a natural outfielder in the pros.

Something seams weird regarding his selection out of left field along with his intentions to sign 30 minutes after.
If he does sign...not a big loss no matter how the rantards try to spin it.
