Our staff dropped the ball. They were frequently defended for “not being able to offer as much” as out of state schools but the reality is our staff just got beat for lots of in-state kids.
It’s ok to admit it now as evidenced by the posts preceding mine.
Glad folks are seeing it now. I’m confident the new staff will do a much better job.

Stovall's going to be a great player at Arkansas

To be fair Stovall’s practically from Arkansas (Haughton)
This South Louisiana shite is so hilarious. New Orleans is basically Mississippi? Lafayette basically Texas?
For being the part of the state that basically monopolizes all the negatives of the state, the southern half has a bizarre elitism.

Adam I know other teams draft guyshigh and pay them under slot! Dont you think that slots now getting into the low millions help us to retain players thinking they can make more in 3 years considering Coach Johnson's ability to develop players?

im not an mlb scout, but obviously you havent watched the kid play defense. of all the things i read from mlb pundits was his range and arm werent plus - but still adequate for 2nd base.

It’s not like LSU is hurting for MIF in the class. At the time he committed they already had Simon and Leto. Maybe they should have had Stovall higher than those two all along, but I think it’s more about their board than being unaware of the player.

Its a pretty prevalent and strongly held "joke".

Paul and the old staff dropped the ball on several kids from Louisiana. It’s almost comical the kids leaving to rivals such as Ark, Ole Miss, and State

After round 5-6 I'll feel comfortable about a couple of players who I will not name due to jinxing regulations.
There are a couple of teams with absurd bonus pools who are going to be able to sign a ton of kids these next few.

Culturally north La is just very different than South La. that’s where it comes from. A lot of areas are much more similar, culturally, to Arkansas or Texas than they are to the heavy French and Spanish influence in South La.
It’s usually just said in good fun.

They do call that area the ArkLaTex for a reason. It's like the DMZ of the region.

Oh I don’t think our staff was unaware. They just got out worked for some local kids.
Equally as unfortunate was their inability to properly evaluate talent.
Not a good combo and that’s why you’ve seen the the rosters you’ve seen the last 2-3 years

I haven’t watched him, I’m basing that off of what scouts have written about him not having a position and not being very athletic.

Seems like you have the monopoly on triggered. Should’ve went with Lake Charles over Lafayette to prove your point tho.
For the record, South Arkansas is more like North Louisiana than the other way around. You don’t truly get into Arkansas until you get north of Little Rock.

Can someone tell me how to say Kudrna?

When did he get his Arkansas offer?
I'm not trying to defend the staff on it, just curious. What happens often is kids who are "okay" as freshmen/sophomores blow up into draft risks or there were others who projected higher at the time when offers are going out for the best players.
