I have, and it’s got nothing to do with bias, just what I see with my eyes. How about you give me an example of a game where Steve is the one talking when they pan to the booth?

I will go on record as saying I like this hire.

I don't think this guy is a flake. I think his head and heart are in the right place. Seems to be big on player development.

I like that he's fluent in the Saints' system, and that it's apparently going to stay LSU's system moving forward. That's what I want as a fan. Smart football on offense.

Once he gets through the initial adjustments of the job, I think he should take off nicely.

I don't have any reason to think otherwise yet. So I'm willing to go with this.

He won’t be at LSU long. The trend towards younger coaches will lure him away from LSU within 2-3 years... of corse that’s if he is successful at LSU.

You’re right, Steve does speak, I shouldn’t say he never spoke. But please explain this to me:

Q: “Ed, are there any times when Joe Brady is the one calling down the plays, or is he still strictly in a consulting role the whole time, the whole game?”

Orgeron: “No he calls the plays. Steve lets him call the plays.”

Was the head coach just clueless when he said this?

I mean O has said multiple times that Steve called 70-75% of the plays.

Everyone involved has been very adamant that Joe called third down, inside the 12, some empty and bunch sets. Everyone has corroborated this, why would they lie?

Also, the playcalling (not the results) looked the same this year for the most part, third down and redzone was iffy though.

O only started saying this after walking back the original comments that I quoted. Who knows for what reason. I’m just curious why he would make the original comment in the first place if it wasn’t true.

Also, if you’re at least conceding Brady called 3rd down and red zone, then you’re acknowledging he called the most important plays in every game.

If we get Freeman that will be 12 kids between them. The kids will have their own skybox

I think that's actually the most interesting thing about him. Tells you he has a brilliant mind if he's so trusted on OC concepts. If you look at the coaching trees he has been around he obviously picked up some stuff he could add to Brady's system.

I don't hate this hire the more I read about him. It's risky to be sure but I can see why they went with him. Must've blew them away in the interview. Better than hiring a retread dinosaur I'll take a chance on the young guy.

So O taking another risk here. Welp, its his bed and they better have gotten both he and Mangas on the cheap with an easy buyout.

Never called plays before but lets make him OC.

This is O we're talking about, he isn't the best speaker ever.

Not sure why you're placing more credibility on one comment that O made vs what was said by all three the entire year.

Probably because he is candid to a fault O is almost always very honest when asked questions.

So O was more honest that one time vs all the other times all three spoke on it?
