The other issue was they stopped playing Banjo and went straight man. They needed to keep switching the bunches
That's how Reid got caught in PI and wheel got opened, other than a freak throw..

LOL banjo and went straight man explain??

Banjo is a coverage where you switch in man. If the outside guy goes in the inside guy takes him. Think of it as switching in basketball. Straight man is exactly like it sounds. In first half the switched or banjoed the coverage. First time I have see lsu do it in long time.

Les and the coaches put LSU in position on the last drive to win 2nd down and 2 and METT missed the throw what more can u ask from a coach. If les runs the ball half u morans on here say he is to conservative come on man give me a break a jr. high QB could have made that throw. I bet if u ask mett he would agree.
I agree with you that the way the game was played/coached, LSU was in a good position to win. To think that the playing and especially the coaching was anything beyond pedestrian is ludicrous. LSU has won too many games in spite of the offensive problems and head-scratching coaching decisions these past 5 years to be 100% supportive of Les Miles coaching prowess. These problems have been lingering since Crowton's tenure and to not address them is a shame to the players and the fans. I'm not calling for a Les Miles firing. I appreciate Miles as a coach, his character, and even at times, his zaniness, but for the love of God, please address this issue and keep Miles out of the offense and help the team maximize their potential.

Clemson still could drive. The issue 4th and 16, that was the one that hurt. The kill shot was the wheel to about the 35. After that it was over. Your best unit shouldn't give up 4th and 16, get a PI (which was sketchy), give up a 15 yd wheel, and allow a team to drive 50 yds using no time outs.
Clemson was lucky to win. Even with whatever Les was thinking on 2nd and 3rd downs on the previous drive, Clemson being 4th and long and converting was definitely lucky. The problem is that the coaches allowed for us to be susceptible to a lucky play from earlier poor coaching decisions.

I broke tonight on him as well. We will never get another NC with him I'm afraid, and I like the guy.

Put it in perspective.
We had exactly what we wanted on that rollout on third down.
Mett didn't execute.
End of conversation.

Oct 2, 2010: If Tennessee doesn't have 13 men on defense for a penalty, Miles was history!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My explanation - this team is not very good.
It played like shite in at least 8 games this year. We are lucky to have only 3 losses. LSU football is very hard to watch these days. This game convinces me we should let the next team that approaches Miles have him. We could do better with Baylor's or TCU's coach

Glad you realized that.
I wish more people could but unfortunately they remember the 90's and are Ok with a top 25 finish and capitol one and chicken bowl losses to penn st and clemson, shutouts from Alabama...etc. As long as we manage to win 10 games

I'm not saying fire Les however changes MUST be made on the offensive side of the ball. This high school crap has got to stop. If Les is too stubborn to get a descent offensive co. then Alleva has got to get off his pathetic golf playing arse and tell Les to do it. We have lost the three biggest games of the year because of incompetence.. This will not end if this does not happen.

This is what makes you a Clemson fan...you guys troll about LSU having a 10 win season. You Clemson folks are happy with an 11 win season and a Chick Fila Bowl win yet you also haven't sniffed consistent success or a NC since 1981. You're smitten and you should be, it probably won't happen again for a while. As LSU fans, we see serious issues losing to a team like Clemson, especially on the heels of last years NC debacle. Take it as disrespect if you like, losing to Clemson is embarrassing and no, we don't take kindly to 10 win seasons in which we witness major issues on a weekly basis.

Come on guys,at least Les can pay for his kids college now. Les miles meet Charlie Mac.

Les Miles is turning into the Charley McClendon of this generation. Charley Mac was well liked and was an average to slightly above average coach - not a great coach. He consistently put together teams that had 8-9 wins nearly every year but he could never beat the Bear and never was in serious contention for a NC.
Les Miles is an average coach who has been VERY lucky with the results of some of his at times bone-headed decisions. He is not a great coach. Yes, he has put together an impressive number of 10 win seasons. Yes he brought us a NC (see "luck" comment above). Then again, Gene Chizik brought Auburn a NC too. I guess anyone can look like a football genius when you have a Cam Newton and I'd say nearly anyone can put together impressive seasons with the stacked talent LSU has had.
The glass shattered for me during last year's NC game debacle and I finally saw Miles for what he was. He continues to unimpress me as a head coach and sadly, last night's outcome did not surprise me.
I know you can't get rid of a coach who keeps having 10 win seasons so I imagine he'll be around for a while just like Charley Mac was. And we will continue to have successful seasons and bowl appearances however I do not think we're ever going to seriously contend for the NC again under his leadership.

As bad as things seem, if you don't let go, your life will be miserable. You can take that to the bank.
This.
I quit giving a shite years ago. LSU gets none of my money, gave up my tickets (too pricey etc) and I refuse to pay to tailgate. It seems very illogical to me to blow money, get all pissed off and generally waste my time over a game.
Over a fricking game.
I turned the game off in the 3rd knowing we would lose only to wake up and find out we did. Who gives a shite? Not me. I'm not wasting my precious time over that crap. Do I want to see them lose? No. But I have better things to do than stress out over a fricking game. I don't see people stressing out over LSU tennis so why stress over LSU football?
