exactly right, that's why LSU is now seriously considering dropping the SU and just going with L, to re-establish dominance as the one and only "Louisiana" school that matters.

It's the fact that yall want to be the only successful university in Louisiana. The fact that UL has made it to 4 bowl games the fact that our softball, and baseball team has went to 2 super regionals in 2 years, that some how yall feel threaten by a little small college out in Lafayette.
Yall do not want to see another school be successful in the state of Louisiana, that's why yall harp on the ULL, UL-Lafayette, debate.
Do yall honestly think that if we ever became known as UL, that we would be a threat to LSU?
Ok then! It's the same reason why Ohio State became Thee Ohio State, or why the Alabama system voted to get rid of UAB football. It's sad that yall think we are a threat to LSU.

Again, the R+L Carriers Bowl is not "successful", and the fact that you think it is is comical.
And 2 super regionals with two teams in a two year period? Congrats. Win a national championship. That's all that matters.

I'm an LSU fan and not insecure. I've known since I could remember LSU is not only the most successful school in the state, but the only relevant school in sports in LA.
Yeah you'll get your little runs and harp on softball and crappy bowl games, and good for you. No one else cares though.
I'll still go for you in CWS if you win, but ULL should never assume anything above minor relevance and a side note in Louisiana sports.

you didn't answer the question.
No one at LSU is or would be nervous about a ULL name change. What is ULL doing athletically that would cause LSU fans to worry about losing their place at the front in collegiate athletics.

That's where you are wrong because UL will do everything to become successful. You expect us to lay down, you expect us not to fight. If we lose so what? We will continue to strive and be the best college we can be.

Yes, I am comparing teams because we are about to start a super regional and because ull posts indicate an easy path for lsu thus far. Seriously, how many players do you ull folks believe would start on this lsu baseball team. I would say zero. You may a pitcher or 2 who would play but not over our weekend starters or relief.

You're wrong. When you haven't been to a bowl game since 1970, 4 bowl games in a row is successful. There's no other way to classify it.

I just find it humorous when I see fans pumping their team with softball and god awful bowl game references. I'm sure ppl in Texas outside of North Texas U did not care when they were in the Nola bowl every year. If you are lucky enough to win something that matters use that, but get outta here with the crappy bowls and softball.

Don't get me wrong...I wish all of the schools in Louisiana great success, but the way that the UL Lafayette people try to shove the name down our throats makes me sick. For example when you change my quote, that upsets beat.
I guess you can change my quote to SLI, USL, ULL, Uh La ha ha, heck, go ahead and change it to the New England Patriots, but don't shove it down my throat.
Now, if the institution in Lafayette would call themselves UL Lafayette, I would support them winning at the CWS if they beat us.

Good I hope you don't roll over. Who wants to bang a dead fish? Be the best you can, but the programs are not even close to comparable and that's stating the obvious.

In Texas, Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos changed their name to Texas State, Texas A&I changed to Texas A&M Kingsville and we are all good because they don't shove it down our throats here.....I slipped and said Southwest to a graduate from then and he said it was cool because that's a part of their history they are proud of.

There's more than enough talent in Louisiana to support UL L. Successful is a subjective term anyway. "Successful" to some LSU fans is an SEC and National Championship, anything less and the seasons a failure. If you don't share that view you "accept mediocrity."

Obviously. We've got a different threshold for measurement of success. I'd say 4 straight bowl victories, 3 straight regionals and consecutive supers, NCAA tourney appearance, and WCWS appearance is a pretty good run of success in recent years for a mid major.
