I can remember watching LSU football games in the early 90s, so I do understand what it's like to be the fan of a team that has no expectations of greatness.
Of course, I was about 7 years old and like my team, I grew up.
When you're a championship caliber program, you expect championships. When you're a Sun Belt caliber program, you expect the New Orleans Bowl.

We know you have to schedule one or two money games a year againt us, Alabama, Florida etc, but do you really, really think you have a shot at winning. Oregon or Ohio St aint exactly Nevada or San Diego St.

You're right, because by 2015 the Legislature, including a representative from the city of Lafayette, acknowledges as fact that LSU is the flagship.
I'm not your clerk. You want to find the very first legal document that listed LSU as the flagship, go nuts. Or you could do the same search for "UL" and see what which one comes up first.

Touch of reality.. We both know ULL would struggle to beat the cream puffs on LSU's schedule and would get waxed by every other team. That's reality...

There are two systems in Louisiana. The state system and the University of Louisiana system. LSU is the flagship of the state system. The University of Louisiana system does not have a flagship institution.
